This is a simple mod I created that replaces the original soundtrack for doom II with rips from the GBA version of the game. They are only encoded at 96 KBPS to keep file size low, but it sounds close to the original game. However, the GBA lacks a couple songs, so I used that version's substitutes in their place. Even more, some songs have different track listings than the PC version from my experience, so I put those songs into their correct order based on the file names.
But why?
Because some people are nostalgic about the sound of the GBA.
I know I am. Damn, GBA Doom 1's music was shite, but it was classically shite. Nostalgia is a bitch sometimes. :D
wtf 70mb **** that. the original gba port of doom 2 was like.. i dunno 4mb?
It makes a difference if you distribute audio files instead a game that uses the instruments of the system's hardware.
The GBA plays the music in a live mode, while this audio tracks are just captured tracks.
