Originally developed by one person and using a custom made game engine, Dangerous Rays is a single player FPS game with some survival components inspired by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R* game series, where you play as a normal citizen that survived to a nuclear accident disaster. After some years in your fallout shelter you need to get out because you start to run out of food. It is time to confront the new world and discover what happened and how the whole society is now changed.
Explore the huge procedurally generated world of the available "FreeRoam" game mode to find food, water, guns and everything else you'll need in order to survive in this ruthless world. A "Story" mode is being worked on and Mxthe who is the developer of the very popular "UnderHell" source engine mod is the creative director of this single player story.
The game support extensive modding possibilities and a 3D world editor will be provided in the future so players will be able to make their own stories for this game mode and share them with other players providing hours of bonus gameplay. Last but not least if the game is getting popular enough we might even add some coop mode at some point.

Hello everyone ! Time to share more information about the new Dangerous Rays version development process.
Things are moving more and more fast now, i have made some changes in the workflow and this had some very good results as i am now more productive and some tasks that were a bit long in the past are now considerably faster.
Last week i have been working on the new terrain system so it can be faster to be rendered on screen and have more useful features. (more efficient realtime relief modification, terrain shadows support and a lot of other things)I have also started to make a new day/night cycle system. The new system is now photo-realistic with a nice dynamic cloud layer system. This new day cycle is also much more optimized that the old one.
I am also happy to say that Xavier (see: Dangerousrays.com) is now working more actively on the game with me and he is working on a brand new roads system right now. And the first results are amazing ! The system is much more optimized (it's more than 100x faster \:D/ ) and you can say goodbye to the 2 minutes long framerate drop after the player spawn. This new roads system will be of course available in the new Dangerous Rays maps editor. Don't worry you will be able to see this map editor soon.

@Caugan Zones size are 4x4 km for now but might be extented in the future. Since it is divided by zones the global map can be infinite.
