i think you will have to jump on the rocks and wait do i see a water coming from rock?
maybe it will push you from rocks or will just try!?
It is precisely a question I ask myself for some time. The problem is that if I allow the player to swim, the game takes a different direction in terms of gameplay. But currently, Crash can swim.
If you want to stay true to the first Crash Bandicoot games, you shouldn't allow players to swim at all (unless you plan to do underwater levels as in Crash 3).
Water levels have always been very challenging to finish specifically because you couldn't swim. Now if you want to change the original crash gameplay into something new, why not.
But in my opinion, the best Crash Bandicoot games were those released on the PS1, not the latest games wich have changed completely the whole franchise (in a bad way, I mean)...
I totally agree! And I think to ensure that the player can not swim. It is true that this would open doors to the gameplay, but also would close many others ...
Sometimes you have to be limited to better create!

Or at least have that "3 strikes jump out" thing where you have a chance to save yourself.

Or IF possible. I don't know if it is but. Maybe you can make Crash able to swim in certain areas that don't connect to platforming areas. Like for example. He cannot swim in this river but in small and shallow waters he'll be able to walk in. But I guess it's better if we just stick to Crash can't swim at all. :) I so hope this comes out soon. This mod is very interesting and awesome!
