Description

A twelve mission vanilla campaign for the Yuri faction. Twelve detailed missions, with three difficulty settings. Take control of the Yuri faction as you undertake a variety of missions, in locations around the globe. From missions involving careful planning and execution, to straight out base building. These missions are sure to keep you engaged for hours, if not frustrated. Spread over a variety of theatres, the campaign follows on from the end of Yuri, when the Soviets buried him beneath the Kremlin. You will command all of Yuri's units and take on his enemies in your quest to restore the Yuri Prime and his armies, eventually taking over the world. Full installation instructions in the zip.

Hey, i found issue with mission Tesla Trouble. I destroyed literally everything, had informatorom about destroyed all silos. I captured Einstein with Yuri, then guided him to landing zone and nothing happened. I tried to lead him to every place on map, looks like mission objective just not trigger.

Nevermind fixed :D We have to do this in right order, first guide Einstein and then destroy silos. Otherwise it does not work.

Yes thats correct, the trigger won't fire until all of the silos have been destroyed, then Einstein can be moved onto the LZ. You can of course capture him and move him to that area any time you wish, its just the objective won't complete until those silos are destroyed.

Weird not heard of that before, its been played over and over. The trigger is set up for approaching the waypoint, so it doesn't even use celltags. Every time it fired, and I tried it both ways. Einstein was always under mind control. Im guessing it could be a frame-rate glitch. Ive had something similar with variables which is why the very first map was altered for the campaign, once every fifty or so goes, one of the variables failed to get recognised as set. Only every happened once for me, but a few times for the play tester, which is why I changed it.
But it worked in the end for you. Must be one of those one off things.

Hi! The mod is super great and everything was working fine 'til Tesla Trouble.
I can't load the latest saved game. I'll have to load an older save and do all again... Any solutions to this problem?

Seems like I can't get past the first Iron Curtain attack

Thanks Patrik, it's not a Mod though its vanilla. Ok Tesla Trouble, there's a few ways to complete this mission. Theres a few youtube videos out there too. I generally capture Apoc Tanks with my Yuri units, then the barracks with an engineer, war-factory, con yard, and build battle bunkers. Stopping the IC attacks requires placing units beyond your base to get those units before they become curtained. either by Apoc tanks on an overlooking cliff or siege choppers which work well in that mission. Cash can be hard to get, so i'll tell you theres a cash crate close to the south base WF,which appears if you destroy the flag, ammo crate and V3 racks around the Soviet battle lab.

Played it through in one go. Only the end was a little suspense because I was certain a lightning was gonna hit Einstein :) Missions after that have worked fine with saving and loading. Great mod btw!

And the nice thing there is you can actually turn off the random lightning strikes. It's another one of those hidden triggers I put into the map, all you have to do is garrison both of the crypts. It turns of the lightning strikes after the current cycle. thanks glad you liked it.

Not an expert with Origin, but I do have it, and it works with it. If I recall I think you have to copy the RA2 folder to another location, like the desktop and place it in there, and then launch it from there. I also seen to recall I needed bibbers origin launcher available here. Bibber.eu
Im sure there's someone with Origin that could help you as it does work. The guy that runs StarTube on YouTube recorded the game and he uses Origin, maybe he could help you further. YosefAnan at cncnet.org Ive messaged him to see if he can remember how its done.

i'm done with part 1 so far so good wished it had more focus on yuri mind control like with mission 2 instead of manually capturing the building on the islands you land on the islands and defend a building that lets you take over the whole island

another thing i think you get most of your tech too early wish you delayed them so every mission feels even more unique like maybe give the tibetan commune a 'unique" unit like brutes or another unit so when they join you it feels much more meaningful

Thanks Mol4, appreciate your opinion. Please understand that everyone has a different view on how a campaign should go. Someone for example purely enjoys base building only, whilst others like yourself enjoy the accumulation of tech with a steady build rate. So its hard to please everyone. That considered I went for the middle of the road approach. The first half of the campaign based on a acquiring an MCV and recovering the Prime, the second half full on tech and battles. I'll certainly consider the mind control aspect for future projects, but as all the player has in that second mission is engineers ect mind control was out of the equation, otherwise id be doing what you say you don't want to see in your second response and giving out Yuri mind control units before reaching that tech level.

i would have agreed with you if it was not a yuri campaign yuri's main gimmick is mind control so not using is a massive missed opportunity
also giving yuri clones early on is not breaking what i said about tech progression an obvious example of what i mean is Home Invasion where you have to manually and painstakingly kill every civilian with your normal unit which is dumb and not unique like yuri would have just used a virus that turned them into zombies or mind controlled them to swarm the other guys or used them for cash

i have one more suggestion and that is you make a moddb page for the campaign for added visibility since unless you have the link for this page you will not find
it will also be cool if you added QOA to the campaign like a better mission select ares QOA things and more but you have to mod the game for that so i understand why you may not want to do it

No your not describing it well.
Download the file. Open the file, in the file are two files part1 and part2.
Open part one. It contains ecachemd97.mix, expandmd97.mix and an ra2md.csf file. Copy these files into your RA2 folder.
Now launch the game. Select new campaign.
You will see the Yuri Icon in place of the Soviet Icon, select that.
Providing youve done this right it should work.
Reasons for it not working are you have another expand.mix file in your folder from another mod, or you have a sov01umd.map file in there. Removing those will solve it.

There will be an alternate fix for two of the issues encountered by a small handful of players in the next campaign, currently being written.
Fix 1: I will write an alternate win condition for 'Tesla Troubles'. (This should fix the issue of the game not ending when some players trigger all of the variables).
Fix 2: I will change the win conditions on 'Reset', so players no longer have to hunt down all units ie mirage tanks, to get a win.
Any other issues, please let me know so I can look at them before the next campaign comes out.

Just passed campaign and I liked it, finally adequate Yuri's campaign to vanilla red alert 2
The best mission for me is 6th Mindless Fait, because I wanted a mission Yuri VS Yuri =D.
2nd best mission is 13th Moonbase Assault, because I wanted mission for Yuri's version "to the moon".
And hardest mission is 11 Reset, because AI send a lot of robot tanks (It's headache for Yuri's army) and prism tanks.
My grade is 9/10, all the best to you, author =).

Thank you for create Yuri new yuri campaign after almost 15 years. High appreciation for that. Btw, I'd had trouble start the 2nd mission. When 1st mission complete, it says : Unable to initiate map selection. then it goes back to 1st mission. Anything should I do to fix it.

rizqi.priatna Is it possible you had a rouge all01umd.map in your RA2 directory? There are two versions of Initiation test. If you had the first single release version still in your RA2 folder it may of done that.
Check you placed all the files from Folder 1 into your RA2 directory. If your missing 'mapselmd' it may of caused this as its the file that controls what mission follows next.

Hello guest, might I suggest you just install the contents of part 1 only before you install part 2. This is because Part 1 contains missions 1-6. And part 2 should not be installed until you have played those missions.
From what your describing it sounds like you didn't read the read-me and installed both folder contents, causing one to overwrite the other, this led to the mess your describing. Your quite right, this game is not Red Alert3, its Red Alert2 as clearly stated.

Hey Concolor1 sir, the problem with mission 8.
I have read all foreword and objects in game and your .txt file.
I found if I don't kill all Soviet's forces and silos during gaming GO TO Capture Professor Einstein and mindcontrol him.

Allied forces coming still triggered (the game no problem so far).
However, I led Einstein to the down left side escape zone, game stocked like forever...
because there are no more rest incoming allied forces like helicopters, SEALs, engineer (they won't come to save Einstein even through I cleaned the entire map and check any places ENEMY's units& buildings.

It forces I have to watch walkthrough, to play the same way same steps in order to trigger all incoming allies.

This time I have read the gaming messages and see .txt file every words of mission 8.

I may suggest, hope to fix this ... bug... glitch?

BTW, because I play the hardest difficulty, I saves often ... and I found sometimes certain saving will broken.
Like:
Mission 8 - 1
Mission 8 - 2
Mission 8 - 3 (When I load it, game just go ends directly)
My version is Origin... hmm... this game is really old... :/
Could you fix it too?

Yes i'll re-write mission 8 and pack it with the next campaign. Im aware of the problem some players experience with this, and will change the win condition to help them out. So Einstein simply needs to exist at the end of the game, rather than move to a waypoint.

Cons:
Sometimes crashes and saving file broken
(maybe too many units&buildings; in game become my faction)
(Or this game is just too old) .

Pro:
Your game is really impressive and addictive!
I enjoyed it a lot, story structure is good, too.
Even I re-play some map twice to try different playing style.
It amuse very well.

Personally suggestions:
1 map need to kill the entire items on map.
1 map need to find and kill all hidden mirage tanks.
These are not really really necessary.

Some crates will kill my unit, no comment.
Maybe it's American's humor

Mirage tanks will be sorted. There are around 14 working crate types, two of those are actually explosive. I use them all no point in having them otherwise. That's the risk not every crate is a bonus. Maybe its American humour...........maybe it is, but im not American.
