The on-going space voxel project by the six sibling studio, ZanMgt! A labor of love, Blockade Runner is an ever-evolving development that's currently over going a major engine overhaul (all made from scratch!) to provide a solid foundation for the game's bi-weekly builds. We've found the bi-weekly builds to be an enjoyable and healthy development cycle and are anxiously preparing the game for their return!
Blockade Runner's characters will not be green blobs however, but fully modeled low-poly characters, with a mixture between Zelda Ocarina of Time, GoldenEye and Team Fortress 2 for the character style.
We'd discussed character design for a long time, and it all came down to how we'd like for Blockade Runner to become the game we thought would be possible after the N64.
In March 2012 we decided to put together a quick photo-shop mockup to see how said N64 characters would look. We liked the results!
