We started out as just two gamers who wanted to learn unity. After a couple of months we started to get some nice reactions from people who saw our progress thru youtube video's or helped testing stuff; our plan has changed.

Although we are still trying to build a game we would like to play we are now working on what seems impossible for just two people - building a fully interactive multiplayer space simulator. One that not only lets you explore space but lets you land on planets surfaces and work together as one team against everything you could encounter
space or planet side.

You have the choice to play it on your own, in campaign mp co op, or in one of the player on player variant modes. Specialize and build online statistics in roles such as Science Officer, Military Officer and Operator, Medical Officer, Navigator, Engineer, and Crewman. Interact with the harsh environment of space in full newtonian physics simulated in both the character and all the objects in the game. Battle ships in space or send away teams down to planets and analyze the geology for mineral extraction all the while protecting against random procedurally generated hostile threats. Solve puzzles and discover secrets in the game while learning about cosmology, starship technology, and alien cultures.

Greetings Indie Db and friends.

The BackSpace project is trudging forward at a steady pace with ubiquitous motivation. Many hurdles have been overcome, many problems solved yet some still deferred. A great deal of energy has been spent integrating systems like kill tracking, interfaces, ladders, while also doing work on ui, storyline, and writing custom shaders.

We have decided to role out a physical helmet prototype which replaces many of our gui texture elements. I'm pleased to announce that after prodigious testing this helmet system has so far turned out to be quite solid and immersive.

As a result of some of the technical problems we have run into with the new 3-d helmet I had to eventually write some custom shaders; this has allowed us to implement a more granular control over the graphical elements of our project.

All of this is part of a demo we are releasing in 2 months. This video features some multiplayer cooperative as well as player on player combat with new weapons and special effects. Hope you all enjoy it.

Very nice flame-throw and jet-pack,but don't you think the jet pack is a little to fast. You covered miles of land in 1.0 sec and the rover car is also pretty fast it well be very hard to aim a little small jet-pack going hundred mile per 1 hour, but still nice work it look like your way more then halfway done.

i agree. its gotta be toned down. it will probably only have like 20-30 seconds of juice per charging too me thinking, not sure yet....

if you wear to play multiplier would it be humans vs aliens type of thing wear the player can join the humans or the aliens side and fight for complete control over the map and destroy the enemy team base in the air like the Space station/ like planetside 2

thanks a lot, will work on it, i agree with the tanks and the lighting still needs a lot of work. we hope by the end of this year to have this released, but it could be in 2014. it just depends on support.
