AstronTycoon Windows game

AstronTycoon is a desktop game. A player takes the role of an astronomer exploring the depths of the universe. He builds large telescopes to explore distant stars. He discovers habitable planets and unknown anomalies in the far corners of the galaxy. Equipment and research funding are important aspects of his work. The player needs to get scientific grants and publish his results, explore new technologies and telescope components.

The player starts as an unknown scientist. He opens more complex possibilities every level. At the beginning, there is a short tutorial to show the basics of the game. The player builds his first telescope and explores a few close stars. He also discovers several binary star systems. At the same time the game teaches the player how to successfully fund his research.

Gradually, the player builds up the fame in the scientific community. Scientific institutions pay more for his research while he builds ground and space telescopes. The star maps lights up with dozens of new stars that player has not seen before. Soon the player is able to calculate the location of the new planets.

Developers

AstroTycoon is a PC-game for windows created by ANG People s.r.o. It’s a small company of two people. The game has been developed since Q1 of 2016. It was clear that we have to succeed with gameplay as we cannot match graphic with big established developers. Also we had no luck to found reliable coworkers to help us with development. But we found several testers at the end to help us finish our product.

The game has been created, tested and tuned for two years. Currently the game is ready for release. Our goal is to attract interest to fascinating work of astronomer. But we also have to keep dynamic gameplay over reality simulation. The second goal is to pay our bills. We did not use any kick started or early-access community financing. We don’t want to ask players for money with promises or alfa 1 products full of errors. We also don’t plan any micro transaction or DLC. All components are in the game at version 1. We have ambition to create few other games with interesting ideas.
