Hey everybody, Long-time no update! So we thought we'd let you know that things are still progressing with Arka and we have a bunch of new ideas which we want to get on with. The building system is coming along well and we've also increased the size of the island you are on. Also got a little boat for you to sail about in!

Hey everybody,

Long-time no update! So we thought we'd let you know that things are still progressing with Arka and we have a bunch of new ideas which we want to get on with. The building system is coming along well and we've also increased the size of the island you are on. Also got a little boat for you to sail about in!

Here's a hastily cobbled together beach hut -

At the moment however we have had to slow down considerably on work for Arka to concentrate on more pressing things like the acquisition of coinage! To this end we've made an iOS game that we hope people will buy and enjoy in order that we can make enough money to focus back on Arka.

It's a nifty little game called ‘Bezier' that you can get here for iPad and android tablets.
If you want to try it out first here's the free version, iPad - android tablets.

Perhaps it could be thought of as a donate button but you receive a game from us for your generosity!

Here's another Arka screen for the sake of it-

Anyway, we're sorry to say updates will continue to be sparse until we have enough money to really crack on. And hey if all else fails maybe we'll do a Kickstarter.

Many thanks for your patience!

Marco

I know if you guys did a kick starter, I'd be first in line to donate, this is a brilliant project, and I think it would easily get funding. Don't be ashamed of crowdfunding, honestly, crowdfunding is the way every industry should be, it shouldn't be a last resort, it should be the standard, to invest in innovative and creative individuals to progress the arts and industries.

I'll at least buy Bezier, in the mean time, good luck guys...

P.S. - I'll still buy it, but it would be really cool if you guys made a version of Bezier that didn't require a full tablet. It'd probably sell better as well.

Yeah I'm working on getting it running on phones right now, unfortunately Bezier gets pretty fiddly after the first 20 levels or so on an iPhone but if we can solve it then we'll definatley release it on phones.

Totally agree about Kickstarter, it wasn't that we were ashamed of it, we just aren't confident enough in our own abilites to wrap up a project yet so asking for money without being 100% sure we could finish felt like a bad idea. But who knows releasing Bezier has given us a lot of confidence in our finishing abilities.

Hope that all makes sense!

ARKA looks like a game that's very much worth finishing, for what it's worth. I've seen far less interesting projects fully funded on Kickstarter, and I'd certainly back you.
