Is there anything that mitigates stun duration or chance?

In a 1-in-1 fight I got stuck with enemy with a long stun time (around 1~2 seconds, I think) and high stun chance (pretty much every hit from my perspective).

Every few seconds I could shoot, but didn't have the time to aim before being stunned again. I couldn't run away either with only a fraction of a second of not being stunned. The enemy couldn't kill me once my <25% health regen kicked in. So, I tried for over 10min to figure a way out of the situation. I couldn't use any teleportation or rescue bc of the constant damage.

I ended up quitting the game and taking the forced death penalty...which resulted in an underwhelming player experience.

I picked up the game this weekend and it's my first play through. So, I could be missing something. Also, I absolutely love the game!

Same thing happend to me one time, i only got out of it due to sheer luck of a army of red coming and blasting him. there should be armor that reduces length or chance.

Getting stunlocked is a real problem. Instead of just creating a stun resistance, having a small, 1-2 seconds recovery between stuns should do the trick

At the moment, the only real way out of it is to use a "superpower" - timerip, grapple, hoverboard or something like that which can let you get out of the way of the next shot. You do get occasional moments when you can control yourself, even when being stun-locked, since the enemies will have to reload eventually and it's not possible to have a longer sun time than it takes to reload. When that opportunity comes up, assuming you survive that long, get the hell out of dodge or stunlock your opponent in return.

If I think I'm going to be in trouble for a fight, I pull the hoverboard and do a "driveby" - it's not so much about killing anythng at that point as it is about testing the return fire and splitting up any packs of enemies. Even if you get stunlocked, your hoverboard keeps moving so you have a decent chance to dodge the normal (i.e. not homing) shots fired at you.

But yeah, there needs to be some stun-reducing option... personally I'm in favour of both a "hard limit", such as getting a short stun-invulnerability upon being stunned, and also a "stun dampening" armour that can either absorb one stunning hit before it has to "recharge"/cool down.

Don't forget the other tools. Using the construction tool to block hallways and build turrets, teleporters to gain distance, decoys to distract the enemy, and even the gravity gun to pick up blocks to move or use as a shield. Don't forget the other skills either. Prestige to bring helpers, high enough stealth to be invisible at any range, and don't forget to have enough agility to never ever get burdened.

Can you get stunlocked piloting a vehicle?
