hehehe... What a useless wall.... I really hate palisades....

The model looks good though! There will be variation from block to block right?

Yes there will be variants yes, remember pretty much all Villages/small towns/encampments etc... will not have the resources or time to build a stone wall as a stone wall could take weeks to ship the stone in, dig the foundations and build it, while this would take a few days, also, there will be towers of sorts to enable light Artillery to be placed on the walls (Small balista for example) these would be nothing more than extensions to the walkway.

Also 'watchtowers' will be put in, these are towers (Made of wood for a Palisade, stone for a town/castle wall)that are not made for warfare (But can as you could fit around 8 men ontop) but for scouting, keeping a eye on who comes near the walls.

Full sized Europe, what we plan to do is release the map region by region, we will start with South east England, then we release the open game, then expand the game world there all the way east to Constantinople.

not useless cuz you have like 3 or 4 semi rows of them around the main wall with towers and walk ways on the main. then you could have men firing arrows or throwing things on top and people cutting down the enemy as they run into the semi circle walls. sure not good against siege weapons but i would guess that it will take quite a while to build one. especially with some harassment from the town you are trying to sack.

Yes, the big pieces will have to be assembled on site, but your method is time consuming and expensive but good.

Here it would take 12 hours to set up a war wolf and 7 hours for a trebuchet.

Would you like to stand on the Palisade with limited cover (crouching) while my Longbowmen (A long bow is truely a marvelous piece of Engineering) rain death from above?

The Palisades obvious purpose is to stop lighting raids (hence the walkway that is one man thick)also good for keeping wild animals out and it is cheap and easy to build.

Description

This is a Palisade, it is designed to offer cheap, quick to build (relatively speaking)Protection, this will not withstand a determined organised attack, but it will stop those annoying quick raids, also it allows you to control who and what goes through the gate.

This is about 10ft tall in total (2.5ft dug down, meaning you might have to get the shovels out, great job to Hire NPC's for as they will dig the holes,)
