Hello, My name is James.
I believe that I am a good writer. Cutesy to serious, I handle any type of mood. I'm experienced in Science Fiction and Modern. I'm not the best with fantasy. I could work on side-missions/ side-stories but I prefer being a lead story writer. I like the story given to me straight. All history, all characters, and all future plans you may have for the game so that I can make the story the best it can be.

Serious Mood-

Dizzy was an imaginary friend. No-one besides children, who had the purest and the most imaginative eyes and ears could see him and hear him. That's how he met Sidney. Sidney was only 6 when she imagined him into her world. She had an adventurous spirit. Long curly red hair and deep blue eyes. She was strong-hearted, and never stopped dreaming. She was the most beautiful and creative friend he had ever met. As she grew older, Dizzy taught her how to travel to his world so she could visit him sometime. He told her to have cookies and milk before she went to bed, and think about him as she fell asleep. She traveled to the Dream Land a few times in her life. She fell in love with it. It was colorful and bright. There was never a rainy day, and it was never bed time there. He took her to the mountains, where she met snowmen and went sledding with Dizzy. He took her to the witches cave, where they sung camp fire songs with the witch and ate smores. Dizzy was never happier then.

She soon stopped visiting. Curious of her sudden disappearance, Dizzy visited her world, going to her home, finding where she went. Dizzy found her. He found her Grave. She was killed in a car accident at the age of eight...and a half. Dizzy visited her grave every Saturday, because that was her favorite day.

Dizzy removed his hat and stood over Sidney's stone. He stroked his big fuzzy blue head in disbelief. He bent over and kissed her stone.

"Hey Sidney. It's me, Dizzy. I'm still waiting for you to visit me, you never visit anymore. Next time you come, I was thinking we could paint together. I have the easels prepared and the paints out."

His eyes began to burn and an unsual feeling came into him. His eyes watered and his lips trembled. He reached out for her stone to caress it, but his vision became blurry and it was hard to touch it.

"I miss you Sidney. I...I miss you so much. You were the best thing that happened to me."

Thunder began to rumble, and the clouds quickly turned to gray. Dizzy fell to his knees, and cried. He erupted with everything he had. He knew she would not be visiting to paint, or to go sledding, or anything. She was gone. And Dizzy had finally excepted it.

He sobbed and curled up ball as the rain began to pour. He whispered to her, again.

"I've accepted it Sidney. I'll see you Saturday, okay? I have to go now. I have to go back to my world. I'll see you later."

Dizzy struggled to stand, but managed to. He put his hat back on, shuffled through his pouch for his key, opened the imaginary door in front of him, and went home.

-- Taken from my own project, made by myself, currently untitled. This is an example of my serious moods.

Modern Setting-

Zeke and I have survived through countless near-death moments. None as close as this. It was my fault mostly, I got myself involved with some people I shouldn't have when I was trying to make some extra cash. Zeke and I were staring at one of the greatest crime bosses the world has ever seen. We were surrounded by men who weren't afraid of pulling a trigger, and most importantly, people who couldn't miss.

"I'll ask you one more time, before I lose my damn temper...Where... is... my money?"

We couldn't answer the man any differently. So we saw him lose his temper. It was quite amusing actually. The moron paced back and forth before he began to punch and kick his wall, eventually putting a large hole in it. He was a small man, too, which made it most for grins. He paced back and forth a few more times before he calmed down and told his men to beat it out of us.

I must say, his men were intimidating. They were big men. All in suits and sunglasses. 7 feet, all of them. One of them was that height and width, which meant either Zeke or I was going the squish treatment today. They stepped forward and grabbed my arms as another man, began to beat the $h!t out of me. I could handle it, I've been through worse. Lucky for me, Zeke got the Squish treatment.

When the small man thought we had enough he put us on our knees and gave us one final chance. He took a switch-blade out and twirled it around like a baton-girl like it was supposed to impress us. I counted up the number of greasy, sweaty men in the room. I counted four for me and 3 for Zeke (3 and a half if you think about it.) I had to draw the short man's attention closer to me if this was going to work.

"Are you going to answer correctly this time?"

I nodded to Zeke, to see if he was ready. Damn this was going to get ugly.

"By any chance do you take pay-pal, sir?" I mocked.
"What they HELL have you done with my money???"

I felt the men behind me get closer to me. Perfect.

The short man bent over me and waved his switchblade in front of me. Now. I leaped up and slammed my head right into the bastard's face.
Zeke next to me, alternatively launched backwards into the man behind him. Short guy had his switch blade fall through the air. I reached to grab it, but the man behind me had already acted on me. He dashes forward, grabs the back of my head and slams me face into the wall in front of me. Zeke dips to the rescue, and knocks the guy off of me.

Unfortunately, it didn't give me enough time to assess the situation when fatty came plopping my way. He gave me a full body slam and pinned me to the floor. I freed my arms and hit him in his face a few times. I managed to roll him over and get myself on top. I gave a quick and heavy one-two-punch and knocked him the fu(k out. I quickly had a gun on my head. Damn. I put my hands behind my head and stood up. Thank god for Zeke. His clumsy ass bumped into him. I spun around, broke his wrist while he was disoriented, and took the gun. I quickly paralyzed all of them, legs, arms, chests. I wasn't prepared to kill anyone unless it was necessary. Zeke had already jumped on the short guy, who was now bleeding from his lip. Before I could ask questions, a whole other pack of goons burst into the room. I could only do one thing: escape. Instinctively, Zeke did the same. He threw the short man aside and dove towards the windows on the other side of the room. Bullets snapped and ricocheted around us, ripping up flying office papers, shredding the wooden walls and tables. They shattered the glass in front of us and we dove through. And ironically to break our cinematic moment, we fell a story and onto the hard pavement. Zeke recovered faster than I did.
I limped a few blocks until we got out into the city.

"What do we do now?" Zeke asked me.
"Get a taxi, I need to find someone"

Zeke and I got a taxi, and rode off.

are you willing to abandon all you think you know about writing to do something (writing or other) that may later improve your skills? such as visceral and a-bit gory and may not end happily or in a way that is just strange?

do you have any other skills in regards to gaming?

have you written anything that i might recognize on the spot? in a game or otherwise?
what is your sense of humor like?

i am looking for a lead writer for our group, we will be doing more than just mods, including recreated games, stand alone mods, and new games...does this sound like something you might be interested in? are you willing to move if (epic if) the position becomes a full-time paid position?

contact me here on moddb.com for more information about our group and what our goals and ideas are all about, to either confirm whether you want to join or not.
