OK if i wrote a letter to nintendo asking them if i could make a zelda mod using the doom 3 engine do you think they would allow it? When i say letter i mean asking permission, telling the story line, main quest, side quests, item, and units. I think they might if i was not trying to make a profit from it. but I did not come here to post my thoghts i want to know what you think.

They wouldn't let anyone make a mod based on their franchises, they're quite heavy

Actually, Nintendo of America is pretty liberal when it comes to mods. I have a friend who received permission to do a Zelda mod for Half Life... it never went through, but just the same...

Besides, all Zelda mods pretty much stop after they show their Link model, and 80% of the time, it's a stolen Link model from somewhere

One of em stole Steve 'deimos' Minton's work (Oni Link q3a model) without credit and one of em stole a crap model from DMZ. Both of them Half-Life.

Yah, I think you can get permission. As long as you explain it is a work of fan fiction with no challenges to copy writes. I mean Games Workshop is probably the [b]most anal company about Copy rights ever[b]but people have made mods of their projects sucessfully.

Do they have phone numbers? Try calling to ask etc, would cost though x_X

I know someone who is currently living in Japan. He just recieved a Nintendo Creators License or something like that, which allows him to create Nintendo based media. You could always apply for that if you are interested. Other then that, I don't know what their policy is on "Sure, you can use it"

I was on a zelda mod at one time too.. didn't last too long. :\

what happen to the mod did it get shut down or did u just quit?
