Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory Thread

Can whoever please include "Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory" in the games section.

There are a few cool mods being built on Wolf:ET and moddb should definetly include it, Wolf:ET is totaly FREE btw

An example of a cool Wolf:ET mod is TC:Elite Truecombat.com

moddb is missing out, so yes please add Wolf:ET

Why not just do it for "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" since Enemy Territory was an expansion pack? That's where everyone else is putting their ET mods...

Enemy Territory is not an expansion pack, it is a completely FREE stand alone game

Dude, if you go to Topsites and check under "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" there are a couple ET games there.

Besides, it started off as an expansion pack, then id decided to release it as a free, stand-alone game, if you knew anything about Enemy Territory

you can also grab it from the id ftp server... including patch.

You have to admit RACE makes a valid point, and I'm sure he'd know that it was originally planned as an expansion pack. However, all that really matters now is what it is, not what it was going to be, so sure, good idea; I'd also like to see it added!

I have now submitted ELITE under RTCW which I think is totaly wrong, the mod will not even work under RTCW because it simply is not a RTCW mod. It is like making a DOOM3 mod and only having the option to advertise it as a HL2 mod.

Who would look for a DOOM3 mod on HL2 ???? It just makes no sense.

Again please add Wolf:ET to the games, it is a totaly independent game and fact that is TOTALY FREE has made alot of Q3 mods move over to Wolf:ET

There's a strict difference between Half-Life 2 and Doom 3, seeing as how they were made using seperate engines.

RTCW and ET, however, were made using the same engine, and one was the expansion pack to another. It's just that before it was released, they (Splash Damage) decided to release it as a stand-alone product for free. I'm sure that if anyone was looking for an ET mod, they'd look under RTCW first.

But whatever, just posting my opinion

well... same engine does not mean same game.

just because you use quak2 engine in a game for example doesn't make your game quake2... you can't put that on the same shelf.

The majority of "casual gamers" are blindly unaware of the history behind ET (because its boring) and would not associate RTCW with it. I am sure if anyone was looking for an ET mod, common sense would say they would look under ET first.

There are alot more ET players than RTCW players, there is the diffrence

Well, then go PM an admin/mod and see that it gets done! Lol, post all of the info you can about ET so it's an easier job for those guys adding the game. You'll be heard a lot better when you PM them, as far as I can tell.

Oh, sorry if I was making a hassle, I was just telling you the honest truth and what ET is, so I hope you don't take what I said offensively

I agree with ET being a game up along here

Because, basically every mod listed as ET would be a stand-alone game and would increase incentive to download them

If you want it up, contact Bigbird. He's always willing to add a game, if provided with sufficient info.

Thanx for the input but I tried IRC a few times already and posted here aswell, the mod aint even been confirmed after 24+ hours

I cannot be bothered to chase an admin and bug them for game support, man thats there job not mine, ET is only the second biggest MP game on the planet, just ignore it and me

hm... i would not say it's their job to run after you. if you've got an idea then PM them and give them time. the PM will not get lost, i promise

If you look at the pages for other games to see what information is kept about games, then provide all relevant information in this thread, I'm sure it will be added swiftly

Feel free to post it in this thread so an admin can pick it up from here; thats what Forsteh was doing with his game suggestions and it seemed to work

I have server problems, so it's hard for me to upload images right now.. I guess I'll wait for someone to arrive on MSN and send him the zip file, it worked for me a few times too
