Why you can't download mods Thread

I am sick of getting PM's and people posting in my profile about why you can't download mods, so I thought that I would make a post with the reason why.

ModDB is a profit free website, we are run by volunteers and our advertising pays for the hosting. Thanks to the support of our community we are soon able to purchase a download server. However the system is still switched off as Intense makes the finishing touches to it.

That makes downloads NOT AVAILABLE at this point in time while Intense works on finishing the downloads system. He is a very busy man and has built all versions of ModDB from the ground up, so please just let him be.

Once the download system becomes available you will be notified via an announcement and a post on the main page.

You should just say that downloads aren't avalible to n00bs... or that aliens stole all the downloads!!

Many of the people that try to download mods and thus send in messages to us don't check the forums Tarky.

Yeah, but at least I can send them a link now when they abuse me

if they're too stupid to just read the moddb message that comes up, or simply go to the mod's site and download the mod, then they're not going to be smart enough to read this thread. so that kind of defeats the whole purpose :/

Why not let mod teams set up the download link to direct to their download which they already have uploaded on their site?

yeah intense said that moddb would have a download server as soon as people bought ads. people did and theres still no server :/

Hey man but he is a busy guy and I am sure most of the staff on moddb have lives lol. So hey you gotta cut em' some slack. Just hang tight and I am sure there will be a download server before you know it.

Can somebody tell me when i could donwload the mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Ultra, because it is very cool.

Go to their site and ask when its out. They will appreciate it

This is strictly PC mods. You're going to have to go somewhere else for that.

For the most part, though, those are practically unexistant, so you're SOL, my friend.
