Hello,

I'm rather new to the community, but would like to post a blog about my projects. Last time I tried I got banned. Fortunately I am unbanned again, and would like to avoid being banned again so I was wondering what time I need to be a member for in order to post a blog without being banned?

Thanks in advance :)

One way to post a blog, is in your own profile Moddb.com
there should be a plus icon, so click that (hovering over the icons should tell you what it does)

An another way, is making a page for the project/game/mod you are making, however I recommend to get familiar with the interfaces and how stuff works first.

As for getting banned, be sure to read and follow the given rules, though It is less likely that you will get banned from posting a blog unless you did something wrong or broke some rules:

Before saving your blog, please ensure you read all of the rules below. These rules exist to ensure high-quality accurate content is shown and promoted. Failure to adhere to any of these rules will result in your blog being deleted.

  • The article is not a duplicate of another article listed on the site.
  • The article content must not violate the sites Terms of Use.
  • The article LINKS TO ONLY the appropiate profiles. i.e. news for a Quake mod should not be linked to Half-life (and nor should be it linked to Quake since the system will automatically determine this from the mod.)
  • The article content is free of spelling and HTML formatting errors.
  • The article content is unique, original, relevant and presented in a professional manner.

Thank you for the response. It however does not really answer my question. I am accustom to how this works, how to post a blog and make own pages for games and mods. That was not what I was asking. What I wanted to know is from what time onwards a blog post is not considered spam anymore. I have read the rules before posting, it was all kept, but I still got banned - likely because I wanted to post the day after I signed up. So, am I still going to get banned for posting a blog now, or is it okay if I do so now?

Probably not anymore (depending on what you are going to post),
I assume that it's to prevent fake accounts from spamming as soon as they create an account.

When you first join and post a blog containing html, it may flag as a false positive to the anti spam system.
Once the bans lifted you should be fine, otherwise using other parts of the site will speed up the block removal.
You can also post a blog and add the html links after.

Hope this helps but i doubt you will get banned if you try posting a blog now.

@Lunaticraze you can post a blog (or at least try to), I can unban you again if you tell Yldrania to message me in case you were auto-banned again.

Thank you very much everyone! I'll try to post then :)

Thank you very much, I've posted a blog and did not get banned again. I appreciate all the support!
