What are those 'ATI Coupons'? Thread

i didn't really look into this one until a pal of mine started waving with such a thing in front of my nose.

i heard from those ATI graphic boards where there should be some HL2 coupon (or whatever they call it) is included. yet i never found out what they give you or if this is just a PR joke.

somebody knows if those things have any value?

It's true. Since ATi and VALVe partnered up, ATI was starting to give away Half-Life 2 coupons for a Bronze Steam package for free when you bought one of their video cards with the HL2 logo on the front of it (It also mentions it on the back of the box).

So, it is legit.

oookay... then i could get a bronze hl for free in that case? (assuming i get the coupon for free )

Yeah... good thing cause ATi graphics cards are hella expensive well at least the x800s are

well then... let's hunt for some cheap ati coupon then... *diabolic laugther*...

Yeah, just go on Ebay to do it. Of course, I'm sure that a lot of them have been used up by now, but there still should be enough of them out there.

And yes, with the coupon, you do get the Bronze package for free. No tricks whatsoever.

Its basicly a continuation off how ATI gave away a package cointaing CS:Retail when the 8500 came out with highend cards.

It came with Counter Strike Retail (1.1),Team Fortress Classic,Deathmatch Classic and a few more I dont remember, I think another deathmatch mod and a weird Half Life demo.
