I'm trying to download Brutal doom v20b, and its taking a while. I can generally download 100 mb of data in like under 10 seconds. but the 178 mb download for brutal doom took about 15 minutes

Have you tried other mirrors? Sometimes getting 1h/2h download speeds here because of laggy (only seemingly laggy) mirror servers. You probably need to select a less overloaded mirror or one closer to your location if the dl speed seems funky.

WOW I am getting amazingly slow download speeds. Doom 3 Redux is downloading at 40 kbps. For 1.1 GB that will take over 5 hours. Server I chose was only 17% capacity. Tried downloading from another server, same thing. Aren't there any servers in the USA that aren't in California?

What mirror did you pick?

Tried four servers. Same result. There was nothing else taking bandwidth, monitored it and the download fluctuated from 36-44 on average. Highest was like 300 kbps, and that was just when the download started, and it dropped precipitously after that, until it never rose above 50 for almost the entire download operation. According to Firefox, the download completed at 1:24 AM, which means that it seriously took over 7 hours.

Run a speed-test whats your max bandwidth out of interest, what happens if you pick a European mirror?

Speedtest.net

holy shit, just tried a EU server - DBolical AMS #4 (NL, EU) 336 downloads served, 7% capacity

Averaging about 590-600KBPS. Hasn't dropped below that. Maybe they're labelled wrong? The EU is actually the US server?

Just for comparison, I just tried downloading from the following server

DBolical SJC #10 (CA, US) - 571 downloads served, 18% capacity

Getting < 50 kbps.

And no, I wasn't downloading them both simultaneously. It can't just be me.

We have received an update from our transit provider. The path to Qwest/Centurylink during peak periods is currently experiencing heavy congestion and they are working to remedy it.

We are also looking how we can bypass our transit provider on this and reach Qwest/Centurylink directly for the short term.

Next update in a few days.

Thank you so much, everyone! I was going insane with this. I'm sure there are others who haven't posted that are experiencing the same issue. I can always just use the EU servers since I get regular downloads from them.
