This is a B&T TP9 (an improved version of the Steyr TMP, with a folding stock and some other changes). I modeled it with Blender, and rendered with ambient occlusion and 3 point lights.

It's about 5k poly's, and wasn't modeled for anything in particular (I needed a break from my current project).

That is a great looking model, rather than deleting the detail you could always use it for a high-poly normal map.

Awww damn you notoriginal you beat me to making a crack about a 14 year old having 3ds max. :)

Thanks for the feedback! If I were to actually use this for anything (this was just sort of done for fun, since I needed a break from my current project), then yeah I'd bake the normals to a low poly version.

And I'm fairly certain that even with your 3500$ 3ds max modeling skills you can't even come close to it.

Indeed, don't underestimate sketchup, it might not be as popular or expensive as other tools, but in skilled hands it can be just as good (if not better, judging by some of the models I've seen around here recently).

I dont think it can beat soft like max, modo or whatever but the soft doenst matter it's the talent. If you got some then you shouldnt mind about which software you're using and if you suck... well changing software wont make you a better modeller.

Btw that's one of the best model on sketchup i've seen on this forum. Go ahead and teach this 14 years old boy a modelling lesson with sketchup ;)

Actually i tend to comment in quite a few places about the suspicious nature of all these young folk who have full copies of extremely expensive software.

well I use both blender and sketchup. I'm actually better in sketchup although I'm not amazing or anything.

I can see why some people like it better because of its easy controls
