I'm sorry if I'm asking this at the wrong place, but I think I should point out what seems to be a flaw in the forum software (?)

For a while I've been attempting to edit a post of mine in a thread - the edit window opens and I can make all the edits i want, but I noticed that there's no submit edit button... or at least not one I can find. I also wonder if that's intentional - are there any new restrictions in place I wasn't aware of? Or is it just my browser (using Firefox 39.0)? Am I the only one experiencing this? Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Curious, I noticed I can edit this post after all. Anyway, here's a picture so you can see I'm not lying.

As you can see, there's nothing down that corner.

This is very odd. Where does it happen (which DB site? Indie, Mod, Slide DB)? Checked all DB sites and editing works fine here.

There should be Save / Cancel buttons at the bottom in the bottom right corner. Maybe one of your browser plugins (such as adblock) blocks those buttons?

Here at ModDB - General Banter. I've disabled Ghostery (my only other blocking addon) for testing, and I don't use Adblock on this site. The buttons are still missing. Also I've noticed it takes quite a long time for a thread to (re)load for me, altough it could be something fortuitous. The post is at the random image thread (I want to replace a pic >_>), maybe the thread's sheer length glitched it out?

EDIT: I can edit replies here too, this is very odd indeed.

Can you inspect the page and check the 3d viewer so it shows the sites html layer. Then screenshot what you see. They are just form buttons so no reason they shouldn't show. Are you running noscript or java / script blocking or have higher than normal security enabled in Firefox? I've not had issues with ghostery on site.

No, I don't use noscript or java / script blocking. I don't think I have any higher than normal security enabled, either.

Here's a screen of 3d view (in edit mode - yes, that's the pic I want to change), although I don't know what to make of it - I know next to nothing about html.

Some ad blockers can block even common images (that contain ad/advert/advertisement in their name), so they can block other website elements as well, including form buttons.

Well, seems like it is one of those issues
1) some third party plugin or extension blocks your buttons
2) someone broke the code/layout on that page

The thing is a plugin like that would block the same buttons on other pages too, so that one is ruled out.

Yes. Checked on Firefox. Someone/something broke the whole html layout in that thread - can't see edit buttons on other posts on some other pages there, either.

Thinking the top 3-digit page numbers (299, 300, 301, 302, 303 etc) broke it. Most of the first thread pages are fine... so yep.

Wouldn't it be easier to just pop posts into a basic form and loop it for the number of posts on the page? It seems counter productive to keep replicating page info. Just save the post data and send it to the appropriate spots, right? I hope that doesn't sound too bad of an idea. I'm not exactly familiar with web page design so I'm not entirely how forum data needs to stored and how it can loaded, etc.

Yeah its the thread that's the issue, no one can edit update images due to the images no longer auto resizing, this issue started happening when the new gallery / editor was introduced and reported as a bug. Not sure how to fix it besides manually resize every image to max 900x wide.
