Shinji & Warhammer 4k is the greatest fan fiction ever written. @_@ Thread

I normally wouldn't post this sort of thing on here, since we're a modding community, not a literary community. But my mind was so blown today by this fanfiction I discovered, I felt I had to share it with ya'll.

I was sniffing around TVTropes, reading the Trinity Blood page, when I drifted off into the TVTropes black hole - I began clicking random links, seeing what juicy knowledge I would find.

I found Shinji & Warhammer 40k, a fanfiction so EPIC it has its own TVTropes page. I read the tropes. Mind slowly falling apart at the realization I was touching something truly batshit insane. The next day, today, I ripped the entire fanfic to pdf and started reading.

Words escape me.

I mean, I'm shocked beyond words I had never heard of this thing before. It apparently loses steam later on, but right now I am reading the single greatest story of the 21st century. Somewhere in an alternate universe, this is selling like hotcakes instead of that piece of shit 50 Shades.

Have any of you read this before? What are your thoughts? Beyond EPIC and AWESOME.

I don't like the whole Warhammer "endless war" setting TBH. The idea of the galaxy plunging into senseless killing and fanaticism because of religion (face it, the "God-Emperor" is an allusion to Christianity) is kind of "dull" to me. But I do liked the idea of fallen from grace futuristic space knights being a representation of sin & endless chaos. And at the same doing the killings as their "holy" brothers did.

Because the Anime & the fanfiction genre is easy to fit into other situations. You'll often end up with such nice stories as this. Even though sadly most of FF is flooded with anime & manga highly erotic short stories known as "lemons". But I see this author goes by his real name, a kind of rarity on FF from my point of view.

I must say I never saw such professional and semi-professional writers on fanfiction.net. I'll try to read the whole story one day when I will have the time and, then I will post my review.

The author certainly is a rarity, considering he's also an artist in addition to being a writer.

I guess in a month I might look back at this thread and wonder what I was thinking. But right now... I was up to 4:40 AM reading it. A few chapters ago, Shinji walked on water for the first time. (You know, further cementing his AWESOME status.) If nothing else, the story is worth reading simply for the narrative collapsing under its own stunning ambition and insanity. Hey, and I've learnt a surprising amount about Warhammer 40k, a subject I've previously had no interest in.

I think the biggest attraction WH40K has is the very massive universe, basically drawing anyone's desires into the universe no matter what you like. If there's an idea out there in fantasy, it's probably in Warhammer. I myself am a Warhammer nut, playing the tt games constantly.
