Team Name:-
ZiCorp Studios Ltd (registered UK Company) Sekultara Background story:- Set in a Sci-fi Universe where the earth has been destroyed by a corporate super company known as The Federation of Trade and Space travel (FOTAS) Your family are amongst some of only a few million people who survived and got away from Earth before its demise. Brief description:- Sekultara is a Browser Based Strategy game with MMO elements. The games main features include:-
•A tick system means everything continues moving even when players are off-line and gives a semi-real-time edge to proceedings.
•We have rendered a much bigger universe than we intend to use, giving us a unique ability to expand the gaming area at any time and introduce campaigns and new races on the fly. •Sekultara uses an economy system which will affect the cost of items on open markets as well as players needing to watch their economy and spending. •Eye catching graphical interface and easy to use UI which will appeal not just to standard strategy or browser game fans but casual gamers as well. •Customizable Fleets and Units enable the player to make units fit their own style of play. •Both Space and Planetary combat systems •A keen emphasis on Alliance/guild/clan based game play. •We are also developing the game in a more traditional text base format so I phone and mobile users can still play the game wherever they are in the world. •An in-depth tutorial and in game help will mean users will not feel overwhelmed by the amount of options available to them. The game itself has been in development since January 2009 and we have longer term goals and ambitions to push the Sekultara Universe.
Talent needed:- We are in need of a concept artist to provide sketches and/or drawings of various spaceships which can then be modeled and used throughout the game as still images and in possible promo and ingame videos. Other responsibilities may include:- Digital painting - character portraits, battle scenes, planet scenes. Storyboarding - To accompany the back story of the game. However first priority remains designing the fleet units. You will be given a document containing a general description of each of the unit types. This is an example (done by me, not our writer ):- "The Battleship is a massive weapons platform. Philosophers evacuated from earth believe sea going ships with a similar purpose of mass destruction were used on earth during its great wars, however no documented evidence of this remains. The Battleship is a massive weapon platform that can use all weapon sizes, It's not particularly fast and relies on its huge amount of armor and firepower for protection. Its ability to attack strategic targets on a planet's surface and the ability to provide artillery support to ground forces is unmatched. potentially turning the tide of battle as broken troops rise to the sight of the massive silhouette of an allied battleship looming just outside the misty planetary atmosphere." I can also provide a large number of refs/inspiration images I've gathered throughout the project to help. Team Structure:- Paul 'mzchaos' Cowper:- Company Director. Designer, Head programmer we have a handful of about 10 people available to call upon to help out in a varity of areas when and if they are available to do so. Previous work by team:- Strictly Speaking none, However I have been working on another project called Invasion Defender which is being marketed by ZiCorp Studios and the PC version will also be hosted by ZiCorp. (its an Xbox360 Community game currently in the final stages of testing and will hopefully be available Early February 2010 with the PC version to follow....Ill get a ModDB page set-up and prepared in the coming days ) Additional info:- This is a free time project as we are not paying you (yet), this means we do not expect you to drop everything and get the work for us done, this also means inevitably development will have some highs and lows when it comes to progress, and we haven't set a do or die deadline for the project purely for this reason, however we do expect to see some regular progress and/or communication concerning whatever tasks it is you have been given. Here's some screenshots of some of the artwork from Sekultara thus far:- Website (Please note:- both these sites are in the process of an overhaul) Contact:- Please contact me at:- Hedgeart[at]googlemail.com Or send me a PM here.
