Soon 100 000 dead :(
3000 swedes missing, including two families I knew.

Still, in 1973 or something, 655 000 chinese died in an earthquake, and I haven't even heard of that.

Yeah :(

I remember when they started with 5000 dead. I was pretty shocked after last year's Bam earthquake, when 25 000 died. Now, it's even worse.

these numbers are just so crazy. I knew the tsunami was bad but i didnt know it was that bad... and now there is the danger of getting plague and all that stuff wich would make the deathnumber increase further.

Turn on the TV, they sometimes show amateur videos of the tsunami and tell the numbers. The worst thing is that the numbers will almost surely get a lot higher, because of very real epidemic danger.

edit: Rambo, you were faster :D.

I saw that on Sky News this morning, picked up by an American couple, i think the whole world should unite, i know the Germans, Americans, French, British, Japanses and Austrailians have pledged aid and help and i think this shows just how well the world can unite at such a terrible time. I feel sorry for all those who have lost relatives and loved ones. :(

It's almost like in Deep Impact, when that lady was standing on the beach and watched as this gigantic tidal wave was coming towards her. That's probably what it looked like, for I have seen no videos of the tsunami. It's a really sad thing to see :(

Swedes? What were swedes doing in southeast asia? Unless you are talking about something else... What ever the case it is a really bad thing to have happened, this may seem selfish or cynicle(sp?) but I must say I am glad that did not happen any where near where I am and that no one I knew got hurt.

Dec 29 2004 Anchor

Yeah, just wait until global warming, when tidal waves will take over and wipe your side off the planet. lol.

I think he meant that Swedes were part of the masses that were killed. They may have been on vacation or something like that. It's just like when you find Americans on the other side of the world being killed as well. They always count that :P

i think its kinda weird tho. They always say like "4 americans killed while on vacation in cuba" but do they ever say anything like "4 cubans killed while on vacation in america"? I think not. This is somewhat not right, i think.

There was actually a report in today's paper that said:

Jet Li injured his foot as he protected his daughter from tsunami waves that floded the action star's hotel in the Maldives, Hong Kong newspapers reported Tuesday.

Good thing he was off to the side where only a small amount of the water was sent. Just think; he might've been killed

The death toll right now just topped 58,000 :(

That's not the point I was making, GUNrunNER. It's just that one of the most influential people in action film history could've been killed as well. It could've been more serious than that. There's no reason to make things worse than they already are.
