Running HL2 Thread

I know this must have come up a million times, but I'm curious: How many people are concerned that their comps will not be able to run HL2 smoothly? I have heard that the Gfx requirements are akin to Deus Ex 2, and most people with even older computers run that fine. What do you all think? Will HL2 have a tiny userbase because no one can play it, or will most people be able to run it fine?

i doubt i will be able to play it well now.

but thats casue of my AIW 8500DV.

700mhz minimum as stated, that's the same with CoD, and with my 1ghz, i *supposedly* could run it well.

p3 should run it with ease as long as you got the ram and graphics card to back to up

i have 2.5ghz 512mb , geforce4mx

Im sure it will run it , maybe not to full spec

Its like hl really unless your pc is uber, it scales Really Well. Dont sweat it.

it's actually fairly unique in that it needs a good all-rounder to run at full spec, but you can scale it (as azz0r said) to any modern system.

Well you dont need to scale it really, does it automatically althought it is abit off sometimes (it presumes my 9700 pro can handle it with pinsharp textures, but on large beach maps it cant :p) plenty of time for that to get fixed tho.

/me still eagerly awaits hl2's true rival.... doom3 !

I dont think doom 3 will compete so much in gameplay. I mean doom 3 will have 4 person multiplayer and NO coop. wtf!

plus i garuntee if its moddable someone will add a "sven coop" like mod and a "ultimate deathmatch experience" mod for all those who really want teh fast action..

Thats pretty much the hole game personaly i did't like half life 1 my self. But the mods for it were great so i cannot complain

Too true, Azz0r But still, i personally can't wait for either of them ^_^ My comp should run them, and they're both pretty much completely different games to compare
