Hi everybody,

We are currently working on a project on the Unreal Engine 4, and we are looking for level designers to join our project! The project goes by the prototype name of: The Hollow.

Project Title:
Working Title: Hollow

[!]PRIORITY. LEVEL DESIGNERS

Description:
A highly anticipated Greenlit multiplayer horror/survival game in development which has been progressing well and is set to be released on Steam, because of this, we require more team members to keep up with our work-flow. This is an official release, so you will be required to sign an NDA, should you be accepted.

There are four game-modes in total. In the base game-mode, up to four players enter a location and are immediately separated from their friends by the threat that lurks, players must attempt to collect artefacts and deliver them to a special part of the map. As more artefacts have been dropped off, the threat becomes even more dangerous along the way. Once all of these artefacts have been delivered, the players can then attempt their escape.

More details about the game will be provided to our short-list of applicants.

  • Tense atmosphere.

  • Intended for Oculus Rift support.
  • Fantastic soundtrack.

(3D Modeller/Texture Artist)
3D Modelling (Organic and Inorganic) (+1 Year) Texture Artist (6 Months)

(Programmer/Animator/Texture Artist)
Programming (3 Months) Animating and Textures (+1 Year)

(Level Design)
Mapping and Level Creation (+1 Year)

Previous Work:
N/A - First title as a team. Although most, if not all of us have previously worked on other projects previously.

Talent Required:

Level Designers:
Must have:

  • Access to the UE4 Engine.
  • An excellent knowledge of the UDK and/or UE4 level editor. (Plus an understanding of multiplayer level design.)
  • Required to make interesting and unique levels that fit the horror/thriller theme of the game. For the overall look of the level, you will be provided directions of what is required, but your own creative freedom is highly encouraged.
  • Experience with modular level design.
  • Level optimisation.
  • Material creation.
  • [OPTIONAL] Experience with a 3D Application.
  • [OPTIONAL] Experience with texture design.

Programmers. (C++ and/or Blueprint)
Must have:

  • Access to the UE4 Engine.
  • Good understanding of Programming and using Blueprint.
  • IF a C++ programmer, must have 2-4 years experience.

3D Artists [Organic AND Inorganic.]: (If you specialise in only one area, feel free to apply regardless.)
Must have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in 3D modelling with Maya, 3DS Max or Blender.
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience with ZBrush or Mudbox (preferably ZBrush)
  • Must be capable of creating high and low poly models as well as baking normals from high to low poly models.
  • Capable of creating organized UV maps.
  • [OPTIONAL] Capable of texturing his/her own models. (Photoshop): diffuse, ambient occlusion, specular map, normal map, etc.
  • [OPTIONAL] Knowledge with UE4 is a bonus, but not necessary.

Animator/Rigger.
Must have:

  • 2-3 years of experience with animating/rigging. (Even if done as a hobby.)
  • 2-3 years of experience with animating characters.
  • 2-3 years of experience with 3DS Max and/or Blender.

Texture Artist.
Must have:

  • 2-3 years of experience with texturing, preferably with Photoshop. (nDo also would be nice, but is optional.)
  • 1-2 years of experience with creating environment textures.
  • 2-3 years of experience with creating model textures.

All applicants must be willing to dedicate at least 2 hours a day to the project. (Excluding weekends.) All applicants must also be able to collaborate over Skype (Text.), as well as partaking in group meetings on Skype which will be scheduled at least 2 weeks prior, with emergency meetings as an exception. All applicants must also be able to work to team deadlines and personal deadlines.

Please note, when applying, it is compulsory to attach prior experience, such as a portfolio or resume. It is vital that we see images to your past work, pointing out what you've done.
