Hello Moddb , I have with a few buddys been making / working on a little mod. The mod ive been most concerned about and lets face it while the quality isnt there yet .. is having many issues. I would ask for the ability to remove comment from the main mod page .. as this stops people using the forum i made on here for the mod and thus i dont always see the replys unless im wasting hours plus it bugs me that comments is used and the forum i spent ages making sits unused. |

Sorry but your request is a little unreasonable. We wont be removing comments from any of the pages we have already. --

The comment system has its flaws, but in the end you're not going to be able to stop people doing this. If you can, at least try to re-direct them to the forums. I've often found though a good way to keep track of feedback is just to keep a constant stream of Feature articles coming out of your mod, that way you're getting feedback on each individual PR attempt. It always sucks when they go to the profile and expect tech support or an indepth discussion on gameplay mechanics-- this isn't what the comments are for and we've seen the system fall on its ass specifically in the polls section (where you get a full page of replies and somehow it messes up the hirarchy causing none of the replies to link up properly!). But for Feature articles it works well, so try to make more use of that and less on the profile page itself. Really the profile page should be treated like a Wall on facebook, its not a forum- but I see people using it like it is one. The simple work around is to rely more on the features/news articles.. produce regular articles, that way your filtering people's feedback on an per article basis. Edited by: formerlyknownasMrCP |

Unless you've got a REALLY popular mod this simply isn't true. I looked at the comments on the main page of both the mods linked to on your profile and the comments were usually a day or two and sometimes a week apart. There's no way you're spending hours going through that. It'd take like 20 minutes maximum to look at the comment section once a week.
Removing the ability to comment on your page isn't going to make the visitors go to your forum. They'll just leave. The more users have to navigate, the less likely they are to do so. You can't channel people like water. Edited by: JigsawPieces |

valid points above.. and lets face it not a whole lot of interest.. guess ill stick with the flaws .. though i may actually still make updates.. guess ill have to lure them to other areas with hidden content. -- Stress is when you wake up screaming & you realize you haven't fallen asleep yet. |

The ones that do well with our forums are the ones that give people a reason to use it. --
