Really annoying me!? What's that game!... Thread

There was this free game I downloaded a while ago, but I just can't remember the name and really wanna play it again.

Im sure it was called something along the lines of nexus, it ran of the Quake III engine, and was an online multiplayer.

Anyone know what game it is?

Nexuiz runs on the Darkplaces engine, not Quake 3.

Ahh, im sure I read that it ran on the Quake 3 engine somewhere.

Then you either read wrong, or the article was wrong

Well, isn't he darkplaces engine a heavily modded version of the Quake 3 engine? or the Quake 1 engine? or one of them?

So I guess he's partly correct.

The darkplaces engine is an advanced Quake1 engine developed mainly by Forest "LordHavoc" Hale, who has been working with the Quake1 engine for many years.

its the quake 1 engine if im not mistaken. The darkplaces engine was made through bits of code from the quake 1 engine....unless i have been misinformed

Indeed, it's Q1 - the Q3TA source hasn't been around for very long, so it would be fairly difficult to be a veteran of it, and to have modified it so heavily

no your al wrong! nexuiz is based on the TENEBREA engin which was from DOOM3 engine.

If you guys knew anything, DarkPlaces is based on the original Pong engine. Sheesh, noobs these days.
