Racing Game Idea Thread

Ive had this idea floating around in my head now for a racing game. One game that can realy show you what kind of thing ive been thinking about is Diddy Kong Racing on the N64, also think Mario Kart, Street Racers (Snes, Megadrive i think. Games like that. Racing circuits would be themed (winter, snow, halloween, city, beach, whatever. Also game types wouldnt just be racing. One thing i loved so much about diddy kong racing was the ice level arena were u had 3 balloons straped to you and if you were hit by a weapon you lost a balloon, winner was last man standing. Also the levels were deathmatch kind of thing not circuits. For characters i dont realy have any ideas, mayby cartoons of something. Just of the top of me head famous people could be a good idea. There would be weapons to pick up Rokets, mines, etc. Also though each character could have a special ability.

I can model and have little knowledge of web design. Coding is my weakest point. Just thought i would see what people think of the idea.

Could be fun, I wasted so many hours of my life playing Wacky Wheels on PC and Super Mario Kart on the SNES. I can't help with the mod though, no talents.

So...what is this? Diddy Kong racing for the computer?

Well that style of idea. Im just thinking you dont see this kind of thing much. Look at games in the past that are like this, there awsome games. Would make a nice change to things you see these days in the way of mods.

whats the point of playing a mod copying a game? just play the game...

Its not a copy. All content would be original. Just trying to get the idea across with some kind of example.

Sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't mind playing a go-kart style game on my computer. Don't know too many of those

Yeah, infact it's been 10 years since the PC platform had a mario-kart-esque game with a battle mode anyways

Well if any1 is interested you can contact me by email with dangerousface@msn.com or just reply to this post. If any1 is willing to do a bit off testing we could have a got at making a little test mod to see how it goes. If not i may have a go on my own.

I'm already working on this EXACT project, basically using those swamp airboats to create a wacky wheels style racing game. First release is days away. Although it's racing only right now, a battlemode is definitely something I want to add in the near future.

Perhaps we could team up if you are interested. Let me no what you think.
