Problem with ladders (source) Thread

Hi all. im a mapper for source, and im currently making my own mod for the orange box engine. As many mods, im going to use ladders - but i got this problem: My ladders does NOT work!

I have always used a normal brush with the ladder tool texture, but now it just wont work! i have even tried to make it a func_ladder by no luck there ...

Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?

euhm try making the normal ladder brush, then slightly to the front make a brush, give that the ladder texture and make it fun_ladder

remember, you need to set an on and off point...

I have never used on/off points..

I just dont understand.. This is supposed to work, and i just want to know what the reason is, and how to solve it

ok, a few things:
1) is your ladded in water or anything? sometimes that will make it not work, or even worse, make the water dissapear
2) use a model, and then place another brush (with nodraw) directly infront then texture the fornt surface with your ladder function thingy, thats a cross of how i'd do it in the old worldcraft and now, but like i say, that tutorial above is pretty useful.

the way to make the ladder, that is showed in the tutorial, is the one i have always been using. . .

New mods don't support func_ladders. You will need to make the entity in the fgd of your mod.
