Phantom of the Opera Thread

Ive been a long time fan of the Phantom of the Opera musical, and now the new movie based on the musical is coming out this december. Here is the link to the trailer. Its in quicktime, so if you don't have it, then sorry.

I never liked the Phantom of the Opera. It kind of alwas seemed retarded (not to mention the constant spoofs in movies and other media we have to endure because of it.)

I don't have much to say about it really since they didn't explain nor show much. But I will say this; the costumes looked FANTASTIC.

I loved the music, the concept, and the costumes. They were amazing.

ACtually, I saw this live when I was like 9. Back then I was into that kind of things, but I hear nowadays that Phantom of the Opera gets bad ratings or something. It was cool, because there was one part where there are pipes all over the stage that jet flame, and you could feel the heat where I was sitting, midway back

Yeh, same here. I was in the middle too. I saw it when I was 9 too. Hmm thats odd. Which Opera House did you got to?

I don't know much about this Opera (ignorance), the movie, I think, would be a great way to know it.
Andrew Lloyd Weber wrote something about it, didn't he ?

What do you mean something about it? He wrote the whole thing.

Really? That's interesting, I thought that he was inspired by an already existing Opera.

Meh, all the movies that are Phantom of the Opera sucked. They where just Student Films and such. This is the first Professional film since the old 1925 film.

I saw Phantom at the Civic Center, where they performed the Broadway version. It was pretty cool, and they had real nice voices. I remember seeing the Phantom up in the rafters above the stage, doing his laugh as he faded in and out again on either end of it. It was really funny, and people kept laughing.

I liked it a lot, though, so I have nothing bad to say about it

Yeh, the phantom laughing was funny. Remember when a Lady was performing, then she called the phantom a toad, then the phantom gets mad and says "Me a toad. Your the one who should be worried about it". A pause follows then she starts singing again, then suddenly she croaks. She keeps trying to sing, but she keeps croaking while the Phantom laughs at her. BTW, I will get a sound clip for all the people who forgot about it or have never heard it.

wasnt the phantom like some depressed guy that looked silleh??

The guys faces was burned, making him look deformed. Be actualy was a Good Looking guy before such a tragety. After we got deformed, no one liked him. He was concidered hideous. He went down to the opera caverns and created his own home.

Is he evil or good, all in all ?

I think he like hates society... I think he was the first gothic person
