Hey People,

I am currently working on remaking the original Metal Gear game for my portfolio. i would like to extend an offer to people that would like to take part.

About the current team....
Adam Stockton - 3D Environment Art/Project Lead
Adam Goss - Programmer/Project lead
Liam Fielding - 3D artist
Jay - Kismet

So about the remake.....
We are using udk to recreate the original metal gear from the ground up each screen of the original game will be redesigned with gameplay in mind. we are looking to give the game a mix of metal gear solid 1 and 2 gameplay, taking the camera from mgs1 and the player movements from mgs2. features such as lockers and cardboard boxes will be available for the player to hide in. Fire extingushers will be useable as a weapon or to detect infrared beams. the player will be able to hang off ledges. 1st person aiming and possibly holding up the enemy to collect dog tags/items/info.

What were looking for......
Currently we are only looking for commited people who are looking to see the project through, Once a core team is built we might open up positions for part time and freelancers. For now however we need to build that core of people.

Right now we are looking for..

Character Artist -As a fan made game this offers a unique opportunity for applicants to redesign a classic, Snake is very different in Metal Gear in comparison to the Metal Gear Solid series and it could be you that creates that look. Other characters in the game will be open for redesign too as they were 8bit sprites in the original you can let your imagination run wild on each character.What we want from you.

  • Must be available for contact via skype
  • Minimum of 6 hours work per week (not everybody can do 70+ like me)
  • Regular updates of progress

Essential Skills and Traits:

  • 3DS Max or Maya.
  • Strong Sculpting skills in either Mudbox or Zbrush
  • Retopologizing models
  • Efficient poly distribution in characters
  • Awareness of anatomy and model deformation
  • UVW unwrapping
  • Texturing with photoshop

Desirable Skills and Traits:

  • 2D concepting of characters
  • Rigging characters
  • importing to udk

Unnecersary yet would be nice Skills and Traits:

  • Animation
  • Extensive knowledge of all things Metal Gear
