Hi all, I'm here because i'm starting to try some 3D modelling in Maya PLE, but i don't know how to do UV-unraping to put a texture into the model.... Another thing if anyone knows about a converter to convert any models(.3Ds, .blend, ect) into lwo ( lightwave 7.5, 8 or 8.5). I know: blender has it, but the v of Blender use to export in lwo file is newer and i need one of this versions... Thanks in advance, -Gen.Kenobi |

Based on that comment and your profile, I'd say this is for World in Conflict? We ran into a similar problem at work not too long ago (being told that World in Conflict requires all assets to go through Lightwave at some point in the pipeline, but the version of Lightwave we had wasn't compatible). My solution so far has been to use Softimage XSI instead since we were using that for our assets anyway. Using Crosswalk to export as COLLADA (.xml) has worked fine so far, as does using XSI's Point Oven to bake the files as .lwo/.lws (which I use for the shadow meshes - you might have to rotate the model 180 degrees before exporting, but otherwise it works fine). Both Crosswalk and Pointoven should be supported in the free version of XSI (Modtool), and you can find plenty of video tutorials on the Softimage Community to explain the process for UV Unwrapping. Might be worth a shot? |

Very thanks to all! I will try the version of XSI(Modtool). I will try all those you told, Cryrid! deep exploration is very expensive for me , but thanks anyways! Thanks to all again , -Gen.Kenobi |
