Need Tips and Hints Thread

I have decided which engine will be used to create the game I am going to attempt to create. It with Unreal Tecnology and I need to know how to convert models and animations from SoftImage, 3DS or Maya. Any useful tutorial with be a great deal of help as well. And I thank all of Mod DBs staff and users for supporting me all this way.

Tutorial wise, are you using Unreal 2.x or Unreal 3?

thats how I learned... try to find information about the whole package thing and how they work (You should learn this first if you want to use the ut3 engine)
