Hi!

I have been browsing the archive, but (even though I think to remember), I failed to find an article dealing with other modding sites than Moddb. I know nothing compares to Moddb that's why we are all here, but I'm looking for an European or in fact German community site, so I can find out if there are any modders living close by.

Do you have suggestions for other modding ressources? Even with Google I didn't get that many hits and almost all of them were dealing with case modding, or other types of da zing. Gimme some links if you will!

Thanks,
SKin'

Moddb spans over more then 1 game, i guess that makes it special :)
Most local mod sites are dedicated to 1 game, but still have several mods.
So if your looking for something specific game modders the chance is greater then finding something like moddb.

Perhaps an idea for the new moddb: local.moddb :P
Some forums where people can ask questions /post stuff in there first language.

Of course, I'd know -nothing- about mod sites in some other language. I'm pretty sure you can't really rely on us for that -- we all speak English... but if anything else fails, fall back onto the Mod Wikipedia entry: En.wikipedia.org(computer_gaming)

Usually don't like to promote other modding sites. It's like if you walked into Best Buy where I worked and I told you to head on over to Circuit City for all your needs. That's not really something this site should specialize in doing. We'll allow a thread promoting your site, but not a redirection. ;)

What you can do, though, is point people to a place that provides a server you can't/don't. If theres a mod site that provides a service that ModDB doesn't, I'd gladly point someone else to it. Just like if someone came into Target asking for something that we don't have, I'd point them to a local store that does. Promoting another site, though, and suggesting an alternative where you don't have the desired service is good service anyway.
I hope that made sense

hmm, not much, but more than I found. So I guess modding lays really in its beginnings even after all. I can't see waht's wrong with promoting other webisites, who offer the same service though, as Moddb's service is mainly the distribution of information and being a platform for exchange between modders.
#However. all the sites I see are less up-to-date than Moddb, so I understand the exchange of information could become quite slow and unreliable, even if you tried.

Thanks for looking!
