Need modding team for FarCry...! Thread

Im the "author" of a mod codenamed "Scope" (thats not the name). Basically, everything is needed, from modeler to webmaster, so if youve got the skills but not a mod to work on, contact me on ra2ss3e@hotmail.com or post here.

Its a single/multi hitman mod. The story isnt complete yet, but there will be a nonlinear story where the player will work for several gangs, getting money and status for the "jobs". Some missions will affect your status for several gangs, for example: killing a member of one gang will make them pretty pissed of at you:nervous:

The multiplayer part will feature at least one new game mode, deathrace and teamrace, where all players got one target, but only one can kill him(or one team), and others like one team are going for the target and the other are his bodyguards, hardcore grunts, equipped with an arsenal of heavy weapons.
(no, this isnt Pandora Tomorrow either )
Right now there isnt a website, but its probably to be fixed soon.

1) nobody will join your mod without any informations
2) there are many help requests here so i doubt that anybody will want to join you
3) and what do you do in the team ?

I'd offer to help you, but I'm working on my Twisted Metal style mod & need help myself. Also, please post more information about your mod. It sounds like you don't even know what you want. Why should we help you?

No problem. I don't think your idea is bad, but if you really want to make a good mod then you must start by completely planning it out. Once you have it planned out & listed as a modification on modDB then people will be more willing to help. Also, you will have better luck at getting help in the Mod Discussion forum.

i usually dont flame anyone cause i cant see the point in doing so...

It would be a better idea to advertise on the official Ubi FC forums - its currently the only non-german real community out there.

the far cry mod support setup is just awsome, i love the cry tek team

is FarCry C++ or only script?

Script based. They use the open-source LUA language. I believe the actual source of the game, which the modders use for more serious things (like totally converting the game - eg. changing it from FPS to RTS or RPG) would involve editing the DLLs with the SDK.

Don't forget, they'll be releasing the SDK soon. They really do offer the best support for the modding community. Their editor is awesome!
