MP40 (3ds Max) Thread

Hey guys, im new to these forums, so i thought why not start off my first post with one of my models .

This is a MP40 i made in 3ds Max 8 a few months back, inspired from call of duty: WaW.

I hope you like it

Looks nice the only thing i would say about it is you should increase the poly count of the strap as it looks really square and thin other then that i love it.

god i could never do that....

That's pretty cool indeed, although I agree with what Limagic has said above. Have you modeled any other weapons since? I'd be interested to see some renders of them if you have.

It would be nice if the butt stock could be done in a folded and unfolded visual.

thanks guys, and this was my first real attempt to model a weapon, so atm i dont have any other weapons in the works, and as for the strap, i was just getting really lazy because its the last part of the model i had to make, if i ever put this into a game, i will be sure to fix it.

looks nice, i agree about the polycount of the strap. could you post a screen with wires ?

Awesome, the German Wehrmacht would be proud. I agree about the strap though, I think tripling the polycount would make it more realistic.

But probably though add in unnecessary lag. It's really only a minor thing though, and if I were him I would probably remove it, because it looks a bit squared off rather than smooth.
