mod realese calander Thread

i would like to see a calendar added to the that would have show onit when lthe live modcast would be and also it would have on it it would also incarcerate the relese date of mod / games kind like this it Game-releases.net

Doesn't that need mod teams that

a) set dates
b)stick to the dates they set

Professional studios still have problems there (especially on b) ) so I doubt mod teams are going to master the art of deadlines any time soon.

I know there are some teams, commercial and otherwise, that can do this, but they are exceptions, especially in the mod scene. Until the majority announce many months ahead of time, and then stick to it, there won't be much point in having a calendar.

he makes a point, and about the modcast we are looking at making a countdown on the site, to help with the time zones.

I think considering accurate mod releases that's impossible due to reasons Gibberstein mentioned, but to have some kind of guide to the site and the program would be nice. I think the small update window on frontpage about latest threads is already very helpful and the selection of news articles is also sufficient. Would really be nice to have an overview of when (Quarter/Year) a mod team is supposed to have a release; nothing with a clock timer, but a general graphic representation of when what is going to be released (diagram).

that could work ... split "TBD" into quarters of the year (in release date options) and make some statistic pages

Maybe there should be an option to enter a date for the calendar or to leave it blank. Not all mods have to be on that calendar. Only the once that are near release, right?
About the timezones, every moddb member could have set a time-zone in there profile and it auto calculates the mod-release-timezone offset. Kinda like most forums do that.

yes the time zone thing was about the modcast live show

I like this idea, its a bit like Gamespots "Coming Soon" section on their front page.

great idea, hope to see it come to fruition.
