Lost Coast is out! Thread

So what do you guys think of it? Im gonna try it now!

I'm downloading too, can't wait to try out the HDR.

eh, I didn't really like it much. The HDR is ok, not as cool as I thought it would be. But for what it's worth, the blooming was cool. I acctually found the HDR to be a bit annoying though. And the level was seriously bugged.

Exhibit A:

Notice: The combine soldier walking across the open space inside the dome (happened more than once. Also notice the chandellier is swinging, but the line holding it isnt moving (the line is off center in this screenshot because of it).

The HDR is HDR, how can you possibly assume it is more?

Personally I wish Half-Life 2 had some sort of dynamic lighting/shadow engine.

But the HDR looked nice too.

HDR is better in DODs because its toned down and far more realistic.

The level as a whole is pretty buggy and boring, poor job Valve.

Agreed.

I can see why that level was not included in HL2. It seemed more mediterrean than east europe/former soviet bloc.

I beat it in 7 minutes. I expected alot more out of it

It wasn't really made for beating the level, it was made to show off the different details of HDR, and just for the record I beat it in 5

Anyhow, as for it being buggy, I only noticed one bug, and that was the huge candelier near the "puzzle" you had to solve when you gravity gun it, the rope/string doesnt sway with the candelier.

Does anyone else have a problem with Lost Coast crashing on them?

i do, it crashed my pc rite when i went into the town after the cliff part

i had no problems from install all looked nice i have no hdr support on my GC o i couldnt really get the effecti turned it on just to see what it would do. it crashed i wasnt surprised. (would of been nicer if they cought that error though )
maybe this is your problem?

Its not a game, its a tech demo. Its not suppose to be huge.

My card is too shitty and old, waiting for my new one to come in the mail. Then I will get to experiance HDR in all it's magnifisant glory!!!
