I am looking for some one with a a background in drawing human and realistic mecha. The first challenge will be to design a battlesuit that will act as a proof of concept for the rest of the project. The unit itself is an idea that is loosely based on the APUs seen in the last Matrix movie however I am looking for more a suit than a vehicle. I want the pilot to be using there legs to power the suits legs and the pilots arm´s should be used to maneuver the arms and the hands. The design should look a little clunky say a 1st generation suit. I will also need a pilot designed. I will be building the 3d model so I will be needing some basic technical drawings to go along with the concept work as well. I am currently rewriting the back story for the machinima/mod so details about the over all project are subject to change so I will give out more information to those that apply and are truely interested. If anyone has any addition question please feel free to e-mail me at sryth.varo@gmail.com |

or www.deviantart.com . They have a lot of good artists there, but most of them want compensation.... which means money -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

you have really high demands for somebody with no track record, maybe it would be best if you showed us a website and perhaps some personall work of yours, atleast thast how i tend to feel about those things. -- I want to make a mod like counter-strike but with more guns ,3 teams (maybe),and better gfx !!, |

Thats how concept work works a concept artist listens to or reads a discription of the object and then puts there own imagination into it. If I already had drawing I wouldn't need a concept artist. I am looking for some outside ideas so that the work is more original. - Edited By sryth On Thu 8th, Jul 2004 @ 9:55:52pm |

you should have more to show then an idea. Even if you post some of your previous work, that'd be good. no one will just draw concept art for someone out of the blue who has no prior skill and nothing to shoe. --

I still don't get you guys, If I had other work they that would prove that I could do the concept work on my own and I wouldn't need a concept artist. Truth is I am more a writer and modeler than a 2d artist so the work that you speak of doesn't exist. Also part of a concept artist job is visualization and the ability to transfer that to paper or pixels. I will be the first to admit that I can visualize something and write a detailed description of what I am looking for but trying to put that image onto paper is pretty much a lost cause and that does happen its not always a one may show from concept to model. anway I was not looking to start a debate about team building and game design I am just looking for anyone interested in working on a project thats all. |

This is abit different to the other posts guys, he's looking for a concept artist, and that is usually when they have nothing to show for the mod, but they want some thing to show. You have to work off of something. |

sryth, im a concept artist, i quite aware of how that stuff works, but since i am an artist i refined my art through practice which in turn means i am able to show my potential clients my abilities through a display of my previous work, which is exactly what i would expect from somebody demanding such high standards for a non commision mods, anybody can make up a description and be demanding about it, what i and other potential conceptartists would like is to see if its worth our time to bother and draw up what you demand based on your ability to portray it in 3d. Since you do not have any recognizble name, and you dont offer any money i think its only right that you show that you can uphold your own end of the deal, and no a pretty story does not count. As always not trying to be an asshole, but thats how the world of modding works. -- I want to make a mod like counter-strike but with more guns ,3 teams (maybe),and better gfx !!, |

hmmm how do I respond to this, well first I am not looking for a Professional conscept artists I know my limits and since there is no money involved I wouldn't expect a professional. I never once said I was looking for a professional artist. The main thing I am looking for is someone like myself that is looking to do somework for there portfolio hell I am not even asking to see other work by the artist becuase it is fully accpetable to be completely new. Again don't need the desing and dev discussion just trying to get the word out about a small project, not start a war. so please keep it clean, don't be discouraging to new people and move along if you don't have anything positive to say move along. Thanks |

Thats cool, you stuff on deviantart looks good. I am busy writing the script so I am not sure when that will be done(continuesly changing stuff around) I just know that the equipment described below will be the main stay of the project so I am not in a hurry to rush the design. Let me know if you need anythng from me. |
