Hmm. Im starting a corse next year in computer games programming (a Diploma, actually) so between that and convex-studios I cant really offer much help sorry. Prehaps we can negociate to take your mod on board at convex...

are you sure the course is just for programming games? and not an actyually programming language

C'mon, how could no one be interested? People liked that retarded Moddb Mod idea!

what skills do you yourself have? Every mod team leader must have advanced skills to be an example to thoes he works with (WITH being the key word)

as an example

before I knew C++, I tried leading a few mod teams. In the end I had to scale it back to scripting teams (ASM from HW, tho we did get a few models done) and after a while my lack of knowledge and experciance meant I lost drive and the team fell appart.

Now that I have learnt C++, I am going for the diploma (C++) games programming next year and I can put in my share of work on the mod team (read: a LARGE CHUNK of the code. Mod team leaders must **allways** do a lot of the work.) A mod is driven by, to some degree, its leaders skill and drive. Look at CS. Gooseman did just about everything, and look how that mod turned out.

So what im basically saying is:

Dont expect to get this great idea that would make a really cool mod, screw around some learning some basic skills then expect to recruit and lead this wounderful team that more or less does the work while you kick back and call the shots and enjoy the PR. would-be-mods like that are dime-a-dozen. I surgest getting some renders and some CA (and if possible in-game shots) as a showcase before you try to recruit. Show the would-be modders that there joining a determined and dedicated team where they will do there fair share of the work, but no more then their fair share and everyone will contribute. Noone wants to join a mod where there expected to put in the long hauls alone.

You raise a good point. I can make renders and such (I wouldn't say I'm the best) and never really expect them (the team) to do everything, but I never thought I ought to do most of it. Myhaps I should reconsider. God dammit! Now you've gone and filled me with dout!
