A couple friends and I are looking into modding comman and conquer 2: Tiberian Sun but we are unsure on how to do it. We do have experience with programming and art designs. But we do not know if we need particular tools on order to mod. Any help would be appreciated. I have found the guideline for modding post and found it very helpful, but not exactly what I needed. It would be much appreciated if someone gave a short tutorial on how to mod and links to any tools I might need to have in order to mod Tiberian sun. My computer is currently outfitted with no scripting or programming tools. Any advice particular to the command and conquer engines would be particularly appreciated.

sorry is it sage or older one ?

For sage 1 stuff simply use w3d exported models & big file editors.
sage 2 requires slightly better .big file extractor  (& .w3x supported by autodesk 3ds max 9) i suggest getting the updated one for either sage 1 or 2 .(google .big file extractor)
Older c&c games tended to use .mix file format... which is also supported to mod by the great late Vladan Bato using his mix file manager..sadly no support for obvious reasons , still the tools are out there and many have used them already.

I also know of a person /group that was remaking tiberian sun in C&C 3 -however I havent spoken to this person in a whiles.
Generals modding would be alot easier as more applications can be able export to W3D ..and the coding is wayyy easier.. but looks more basic and has lots of outdated tutorials for it..(vanilla gens is the easiest one to code for-though many do zh modding)
