I don't see the sense in archiving news without giving reason why and without giving a chance to edit the news and resubmit it.
What happens is that you "lose" what you wrote on the news because you can't create duplicate articles so you have to reinvent your article if it was archived.
Why not just give the reason why it was archived and give a chance to edit and resubmit it?

1 picture is not good enough for news to be featured. Such articles could be only authed on Slide DB - and your game receives almost no attention/visits from Slide DB.

If you want your news to be frontpaged on both Indie DB and Slide DB, please add more than 2 relevant pictures or 1 new fresh video in addition to a decent amount of textual content for better chances to have your article featured on Indie DB.

Here i outline how news should be presented to hit the front page.

You can edit your news, then update the post there should be a little pen at the top.

My question was not which news get featured but rather why I can't resubmit news that were archived?
I know I can edit the news, but the question can I resubmit archived news?

Yes you can.

Please note the difference of "Keep Private" option when you're adding a new article and when you're editing an already archived article:

1) when adding a brand new article:

Keep private
by checking this box your news will only be shown on the linked profiles below. Check this when posting rough or private content which you do not want shown on the homepage

2) when editing any archived news:

Keep private
this news is currently archived and will be shown on only the linked profiles below. If you would like this article to be re-checked by staff and posted on the homepage, check this box.

That option will make your article re-appear on the admin updates/tickets list. So you didn't have to create any new posts, you could just tick that option, it was available all this time to you and you haven't even noticed it by now.

And yes, the site staff can bump/update your news date to the current date and hour so your article appears on the top regardless of the time you had submitted it.

Also to remark, it's not about MANDATORY pictures or videos - it's about CARING about your watchers and visitors of your profile/news page, people who need both media and some traditional textual content to go by. So please make your news presentable if you want it featured on Indie DB - it's not about site submission requirements, it's about trackers and visitors you seem to completely ignore.

If you do the news right, it wont get archived solving all your issues at once, the link i gave explains how to avoid having archived news.
We get alot of news and your news space is precious so you should do the best job you can, to make your news eyecatching and interesting for readers.

You having to write a post, that then gets archived, that you then need to update and send back is twice the work of getting it right the first time.
