Hey folks,

I'm currently on a gap year from studying Games Design at Glasgow Caledonian University and am looking to begin building a portfolio. I will not be expecting any paid work, I am solely aiming to attatch my name to the creation of some fantastic games/mods. (Putting the Free in Freelance.)

Having finished my 3rd year, of 4, I have earned myself a nice little degree in Games Design. The course was built around User Centered Game Design and covered topics such as Interactive Storytelling, Psychology of Design, User Interface Design and many other game and multimedia design related modules. Throughout the course I was a member of a close knit team that took on all group projects together. For every group project I was nominated as the storyteller and assistant gameplay designer. Roles which I took on eagerly. Our group always piqued the interest of our Tutors and never came away with a low mark.

For now, however, I am hoping to get some experience in working on more free-form and professional projects while I decide whether to continue the Games Design course, or focus more on my writing and take an English course. I dont really have a genre I specialise in as I am still spreading my wings as a writer. I am hoping any work I can get through here will help broaden my horizons a little. I have been greatly inspired by Max Payne and Alan Wake writer/designer Sam Lake and am heavily enthusiastic about modern storytelling mediums.

Please feel free to get in touch with me about any work you have available at thedavidpaterson@gmail.com
