Hello! I'm Lewis. I write words. I usually write these words for money. However, since I'd absolutely love to do more work on mods (hopefully with a view to write for full games in the future), but am not the best at actually making the things, I'm looking to offer my services voluntarily to a talented and dedicated single-player mod with an interesting concept. By profession I'm a freelance videogames journalist. My words appear at Gamasutra and Rock Paper Shotgun on a regular basis, and I've also produced work for Eurogamer, The Escapist, PC Gamer and PC Zone. I've also written two mods: Post Script and Nestlings for Half-Life 2. Get in touch IF! - You're making an interesting single-player mod. I have very little interest in working on Generic Sci-Fi Shooter 43, unless there's something particularly exciting about it which sets it apart from the crowd. - You're going to finish the thing. Most mod teams start out pretty sure they'll release, yet only a small percentage do. Unless you're absolutely certain you're going to see it through, please don't get in touch. This is portfolio work for me, so unless I'll eventually have something to show for it, it's a waste of my time. (You could probably read this as: 'your mod is reasonably short.') - You have something to show. Writing for videogames isn't like writing for film, or television, or theatre. You can't start with the script. You need at least some sort of design document before the words can start coming together in a way that's going to benefit anyone. If you choose to work with me, I WILL! - Write words in sequence until they are done. I'm one to flake out on my own projects, but not on other people's. - Help to flesh out concepts in any way that I can. - Happily work on existing rough scripts in order to bring them to life. I think I've read some of your work around the place. You're one of the good ones. I really like your commentary on what Invisible War was, I've often struggle to articulate that viewpoint in the (surprisingly frequent, come to think about it) drunken conversations I've had on the topic of Deux Ex. |

Lewis , I was wondering if you would be interested in doing any writing for a single player RPG mod. This mod adds a new story as well as new features You would not be the only writer and the work would be broken down to sections to allow flexibility and removing the feeling of being overwhelmed.
