(As a pre-cursor, I know it is typical that when someone lists themselves as a jack-of-all-trades that its typically a way to say "I'm not really great at anything", but please read on, as I truly do believe I have the necessary talents to contribute to any project.)

Hey everyone. I used to be a frequent visitor of this site where I attempted my own project titled "Troubleshoot." While we had great success at the start, I eventually got overwhelmed with school and work and couldn't quite keep the tabs on the people I needed to and without secondary leadership, it eventually dissipated. With school for this semester wrapping up here in a couple weeks, I'll be having some time open up that I'd love to fill up by getting back into the design world. I do have a full-time job this summer, but I do have enough time to contribute what I think is beneficial experience and knowledge to your project. While I don't think I have it in me to be a sole leader in an expansive project, I am willing to step up and contribute some management experience in an assistant sense, however, this of course requires me seeing a large commitment on your part.

As for what I actually do, I don't think there's really a title for it. While I am a Comp. Sci. major, don't expect much coding out of me as its just not my cup of tea. Other than that and art, I'd be willing and more than able to do anything you ask of me. As I stated, my primary experience lies in team recruitment and management as I like to think I have a knack for people. For my previous project, it took only a very short amount of time from absolutely zero content until we had a decent chunk of skilled members and concept art, and I do have several tricks and knowledge to bring this to your project as well. Of course, I'd also love to contribute on the design/writing (whether that's gameplay, levels, story, etc.) aspect of your project, and I prefer something a little on the open-ended side design wise, rather than a project in its finishing stages with nothing left to add and create. Lastly, I dabble in webdesign and management, and I'd be happy to attempt to create a temporary hub for the project, though admittedly, it won't be as pretty as a professional, it definitely gets the job done (example shown below).

TL:DR Version: I'm a jack-of-all-trades skill-wise and while my previous project failed, the experience and new knowledge I now bring to the table can help any project looking to get off the ground.

With all that wall of text said, here's my former project's website: Troubleshoot

And the former thread: GameDev Thread

Just as a showcase of what I bring to the table, I was able to commission probably 90% of that concept art for about $30-$40, where most pieces were acquired for around $5 with the most expensive being $20. Keep in mind, this was at the early most project stages, meaning I had no previous material to show, aka, given the right idea and leadership, I have the ability to make something out of hardly anything.

Finally, what I am looking for: As I said earlier, I'd love it if the project was in its earlier stages and still was open to new ideas and fresh approaches. While I'm not looking to take over your project, I'd like to at least have the ability to throw in my 2 cents. As for what type of project, I'd like something ambitious, but of course, not the next WoW-killer or Final Fantasy. I personally have no interest in Puzzle or 2D-games, just a lack of interest for me, not to mention, I'd like to work on something a slightly bigger scale than that. (Not that even those types of games are easy to do). A unique RPG, RTS, Action Game, or Shooter (mods included) would likely be best, but I'm open to a pitch.

Lastly, I want to work with a project leader who is passionate and committed to what they are doing. I spent a decent chunk of time writing this post, and I expect you to return the favor by respecting my time when talking with me. I'd highly prefer you be over 18 at least just as I was once in the same boat as the younger crowd, and most just really don't know what you're getting into at the stage, but of course, if you think you have what I'm looking for, don't hesitate to contact me. Even if your project is still just an idea and you haven't made any effort to put it into motion, I'd still love to speak to you as I'm a sucker for helping create new things, and honestly, if you're still reading this far into my post, you must be dedicated in some form! :D

Hello. I am in need of your skills here for a mod idea I have been trying to get off the ground. I have a couple of people under me, but need allot more, as well as management help, and any other things you can provide for this project. I don't really know where to begin to find all other people needed, except for here. I would really like to chat with you about my idea, see what you think, and hopefully recruit you to the team, and feel you would be a valuable asset. Fell free to e-mail me at lost_in_the_myths_m@yahoo.com, and let me know if you are still available. I have no money to throw around to get things done however, but hoping that the payoff in the end will result in a popular mod, for my idea is for the most part....new, though I think i have seen one or two on here that are close, but not as good as i plan on making mine.

Hm, are you abandoning your other idea then?

I really advise against that, If you can get a team together your other idea has the potential to be a big hitter.

I think he is simply too undedicated to devote himself to one project.

Zen, I just want to start by saying how much I appreciate you trying to go around to every forum and bashing my threads. Its an admirable attempt and really shows your maturity in handling someone who is not interested in your project.

I'm not abandoning the other idea, this was a preliminary post to see if I found any projects of interest until I started my own. I never found one, so I made the new thread. This was at the bottom of the forum, but it was bumped. As far as I know, you can't delete threads, so I'll just request that no one else bumps this.

Thanks.

Oh come now. I've contacted plenty of people who've turned me down. You must think you're something special if you're the only one I've responded to in this fashion. The fact is that most of the time people have decided one way or another on a project and as far as I am concerned, that showed dedication. Not only did you abandon your project - you're insincere about joining anyone else's.

There are plenty of projects here. And even moreso on GameDev. Why don't YOU put forth the effort to find one that you like? As I said - you're either too undedicated to get one project off the ground or you're simply using these threads as a way of stroking your own ego.

He has a point. No sense making a thread with a less than substantial "resume" expecting a huge turnout. If you want to work on a mod, find one you like and contact team members respectively. How is a project leader in need of an artist or sound designer going to look at this thread? "Just what I was looking for. A Jack Off On All Trades!"

Why don't you ask Zen how he looked at the thread considering he contacted me Korge?

I actively searched forums for a project as well as putting up this post. Please don't sit there and act like you know my intentions just by reading Zen's post. You can look at this post as "stroking my ego" and that I just posted this to build up steam for my project post, but you'd be wrong in assuming that. I've clearly started getting my project off the ground and was happy letting this post fall to the bottom. I haven't abandoned my project, so please quit assuming things gentlemen. Read the dates on the posts and its quite clear.

I asked people not to post here so it stops being bumped, so I'd appreciate that request being honored.
