Hello:

My name is Andrew Wheatley and I am the CTO of DGSLogic.
DGSLogic is a new game server company and to jump start our
business we are offering private 8-slot dedicated linux
servers in exchange for a banner on your mod website. The
offer will last until the end of the beta phase of your mod
at which time you will be able to rent the server at
a reduce rate (assuming the DGSLogic banner remains on
your site).

You can visit DGSLogic at Dgslogic.com and
contact us at contact@dgslogic.com.

Thanks and good luck!

Your network connection looks pretty good from your site. Your also the 1st server provider to provide a free reboot a day, most large companies charge.

Sounds good, and ought to help mods with playtesting and such, :) Your a good man for suporting the the mod community like this, I hope it helps your business.

free reboot a day? didn't know such a thing is denied... but on a linux server you do not need a reboot anyways...

Oct 1 2004 Anchor

Actually, since each game server is on a separate vps, the
client can decide the reboot frequency. For example,
client A can get reboots every 24 hours and client B
can get reboots every 48 hours even though they're on the
same machine.

Some game servers leak memory faster than others (and thus
fill up the RAM faster) and would require more frequent
reboots.

As we grow, we will likely add more locations. We want to built up some capital first.
Have you got a particular location in mind?

Considering your east coast, and I pinged 70, which is good for me on east coast servers, I would have like 30 under on west coast...

grr, stupid buttons always getting them backwards, sorry bout the double post

If you've got Day of Defeat or Counter-Strike try out one
of our test servers and see how the ping is.
Go to the Favourites Tab and "Add Server".

If read this correctly a 8 player server wouldnt be trade worthy. Our hits alone are worth 18 to 24 player.

This is up to intense he is the owner of the site and the above statement is my opinion.

there we see it again how careless game company coders are... for WTF there are tools like ccmalloc or valgrind to help you not having memory leaks?

and on linux... hä? memory leaks? this is not windows where a crashed or shut down app leaves the memory cluttered. linux will always free any memory an app has been consuming (thx to linux superiour memory handling) so restartig the game-server application is enough to get memory back on track.

nothing against you but hearing reboot on linux servers is really like "WTF?!"

32 slot public CS: Source server costs $192.00

At other server rentals, you can rent an ENTIRE server box for $200 a month and run at least 15-20 servers on it.

All fully customizable the way you want and you get full access/power to the box.

Dude, you need to fix your prices .. big time.

*outch*... that hurts...

Oct 7 2004 Anchor

Well we're not the cheapest, but we're not the most expensive either. For example, a CS:S 24 slot server at artofwarcentral.com is $168 whereas our CS:S 24 slot server is $144. Galactic empires offers 24 slot servers for about $95 but they don't have CS:S.

Cheers,

Andrew

www.Halflife2servers.com

Not one of the best website layouts but they have WAY cheaper servers with amazing support and tons of features.

14 man public server from them costs $35, from you its $70.

Thats DOUBLE. This just shows that your out to make profits by scamming people who aren't aware of the market.

[Disclaimer: I am in NO WAY part of the above site nor am I here to promote them. I've simply stated them for comparison matters.]

What difference will being a 30 year old professional or a 18 year old gamer if you get the same end product and same support/features but half the price or even less?

It's just called rip-off. Thats what it is.

Azzkiker:

You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. I am
open to negotiating a lower price if it means a potential
client will go with DGSLogic instead of a competitor.

We have our prices at the rate they are because we don't
put 15-20 servers on a machine. We would rather put 10-12.

The difference between a 30 year professional and an 18 year
gamer, in general, is that a 30 year professional has a
family to support, a mortgage to pay and 12 more years of
life experience.

Best Regards,

Andrew
