Evil Dead as a mod? Thread

Possible: Yes very. Done?: Recently? no not in a while.. matter of fact only Army of darkness doom exists, and its basically mish mashed sound bites.. Just in case you dont know Evil Dead is a cult horror movie that was filmed 1981 by Sam Raimi. Now if you know this movie and are about to say "it sucked" A) You wrong B) this post is only for people that show interest. Now I see many engines worthy of this project.. and its not easy when You have the will to do something but definatly not the tech knowhow.. I'd most definatly wanna embark on this as I am a HARDCORE evil dead fan and i could probably supply some ideas as story writer/ refrenceing/ addtional concept art so please if you feel like this should be done as much as I then drop me a line: Kben955195@Aol.com-

umm.. there are a whole bunch of mods about zombies, check out blue moon rising i think they will be releasing soon.

Yes but the thing is..There is no EVIL DEAD refrenced..ya see evil dead isnt zombies.. they dont moan. they smile dementedly and bite off their own hands and are into trickery, smacking ppl with objects, having their pupils dilated, puking multi colored bloods, And making Ashs life generally hell, it its also funny. So that my friend is why we need an EVIL DEAD MOD with all three of those words together in that EXACT order

You could always throw Ash into some real twisted situation.

Like the Apocolypse, crash course into Hell, outbreak of zombies in Purgatory (Painkiller oops?), a collaboration of zombies come together to attack the world as one instead as many, one big war between Ash and helpers against the zombies.... the list goes on and on.

I was actually thinking Half life 2 or Doom 3s... prolly half life 2's as theirs gonna be more emotion in the characters, and definatly more destruction of locales, cause deadite brawls will be old school evil dead, The uppercuts,The counter, grabbing the chainsaw handle, or steering it away from themselves, The stor, is unsure, but Im still thinking...I just wish I could find people who can help bring this off the ground.. Maybe I should start it..but with no experience or tools what am i gonna do? sigh..Id lead a team but without member or modelling talent then i feel usless =(..come on people whaddya say? If i was to start one what woulda ya say

Me too, I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to just check it out. I would feel obligated to.

not sure, modelin isnt my deal.. Try some google work.. lol just look for 3dsmax 6 md3 or somethin..

Yes it does, but you have to know how to compile it to a Quake 3 model format.

Note: There are already two Evil Dead games out at the moment, subtitled 'Hail To The King' and 'A Fistful Of Boomstick'.

dude Im an EVIL DEAD fanatic I know..I own both games.. Theres one bein made by cranky pants coming soon and Im doin my own to show how it should be

Heh. Personally, i think Evil Dead 1 sucked.. It just wasnt very good at all.. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness where awesome tho! You have any more info on what you plan to do for this mod? Im gettin sorta itnerested with it..

Oh man, I LOVED that show! By all means, it's a great Idea. Just be sure that it's more of a humorous game like the movie. We never see any funny zombie games these days.

Ya.. Thats mostly why im thinkin not to focus much on evil dead 1 cause it sorta lacked the humor i think.. 2 and 3 were awesome, but 1.. bleh.. didnt like it one bit..

I watched my Evil Dead 2 for the first time last night. It was pretty B-grade, low budget and campy with some below average acting, but it was enjoyable nonetheless, and Ash was undeniabley cool in the second half of the movie with the chainsaw arm and sawn-off. I'd love to see this happen.
