Hi all,

Does anyone know to a 3rd person engine such as assassin's creed with the same fighting style. I am trying to start to make a game rather than a mod. Will be complete with a full campaign and possibly a multiplayer. It is set in the medieval period so you are fighting with swords and axes, etc. so a 1st person game isn't an option. Please help.

Thanks in advance

If you want some fancy graphics you should go for the UDK also there is this new Cryengine 3 , even tough UDK is more optimized for FPS games third-person is also possible (thats what im doing/ learning now) :D

Any engine can be used for 3rd person games, in fact it can be used for almost any genre too, even if it is geared towards any specific genre. It just all depends on the content you create and what you put into it. Perhaps it would be more beneficial if you do a little more research by playing some mods, and also maybe get involved with modding to get a better idea of what any particular engine can do before you jump into making a game. :)

This is rubbish. There is no difference between a third and first person game from a technical perspective.

The only real difference is that one has a skeletal mesh representing arms, and the other has a skeletal mesh representing a character ;)
