Hi there everybody,

I've been searcing vor a HL² Mod based on Wolfenstein Enemy Territory but found nothing.
So I think I have to post ithis oppertunity here (where else!?)

I think the gmeplay of ET is very good and the new HL engine makes it possibil to combine great graphics and phisics with incredibly gameplay :)

If there is anybody out there interested in realizing this awesome idea :D contact me.
We should start now....

That would be rather EULA breaking, and besides, who needs physics? ET is a good game itself and it doesn't need 'em.

True, if deathwing tries to go thru with it? W/O any consulting or delving in on something like that? I smell lawyers and legal issues on the horizon. Many poeple have tried at doing something like that and failing horriblly to thier cyberdeaths. (Not only that but going mental in some cases ;) )

And besides, RTCW2 is coming out next year, so perhaps they'll just release an ET on the updated engine. No need to go through the whole hassle of making a mod for a game that's free anyway :P

...I am not gonna buy HL2 to play a slightly beefed up freeware game :P

Im sure you dont need to worry about legal troubles. After all, the people at fox just sat around thier lazy asses, and gave me smiles and happycakes when we tried to make an AVP mod.

Then again, you didn't even have anything done so they didn't need to worry. :p

Exactly.

It's disappointing to see all of these people who want to remake games...we need fresh ideas because the gaming industry is slowly becoming stale.

the problem is that good ideas are scarce... and if they are (like or example 'The Ship') then they are not heard enough because the mass continues playing the newest cs-remake... *zzzz*

RTCW2 is on DooM3 engine, so porting would have already begun if they had planned on it :-/

ET is result of a failed expansion pack, so unless we get lucky again...

Oh no, not again. iD has been recycling the same franchises ever since 1998 -_-

No, this game is being worked on by Rainbow Studios, I believe. And it's not recycling. This game (RTCW2) is supposed to be hotter than the first :D Not to mention, with an update to a newer engine, it's going to be awesome to see what happens. Of course, they might want to build a seperate multiplayer engine, since you'd have such small maps with the Doom 3 engine otherwise...

As a matter of fact, we had already started modeling, and they shut us down.
