You'll need the game's source code (the original C++ files) if you want to code new weapons and make other changes to the game. The compiled data files won't help you, unfortunately (as they can't be decompiled). Since there's a separate folder marked "weapons", am I correct in assuming the weapon models and skins are stored there? If so, you should be able to modify them, but I doubt you will be able to do much else. -- "Well, I usually charge 5 bucks for these, but since it's YOU man... it's 10." |

no thats just the scope reticles on the new weapons that are stored in that folder so does that mean deer hunter 2005 cant be modded --

I'm not 100% certain, I've never seen the file setup for DH. But if you can't find the SDK, then I'm pretty sure you won't be able to mod it. If anyone knows something about DH modding, please correct me. Edited by: Gryx -- "Well, I usually charge 5 bucks for these, but since it's YOU man... it's 10." |

No, I'm guessing that probably contains all the maps, models and sounds. The SDK should include the original source code (this will not have shipped with the game). You will have to find it on the net somewhere. Try "deer hunter 2005 sdk" in Google. While your at it, look around and see if you can find any modding tools for it as well. (I.e. "deer hunter 2005 modding tools") -- "Well, I usually charge 5 bucks for these, but since it's YOU man... it's 10." |

Raver's right. You can still use that map editor though. You might also want to join that Atari forum. They might have the answers your looking for. -- "Well, I usually charge 5 bucks for these, but since it's YOU man... it's 10." |
