So I have started work on a new project. As you may have guessed it is called Dexterity, and is inspired by the game Mirrors Edge. I haven't played mirrors edge before so I hopefully will not make it to similar to that.
Anyway, the story is you are a highly skilled assassin, hired mostly by the government, who discovers that the people you're killing haven't done anything wrong. After making this grim discovery the government will stop at nothing to try to kill you, as you try your best to expose their secret.

I know the story may not be the best in the world but I am willing to alter it.
Anyway, for this project I do need some help with a few things listed:
Modelling
Music
Art

If you do want to be involved, just reply to this post with links to your work. I am going to use the Unity 3d engine to make this in order to get the best results I can.

Help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, what can I say other than "Then start working on it"?
I don't want to sound rude, but ideas aren't worth a damn. Everyone has them. Actually creating them is what seperates the few developers from the masses of dreamers.

Do as much as you can by yourself. People will get interested and eventually get in touch with you in order to join and your project will take shape.
Yeah, and do yourself a favour and don't start off by creating the entry on IndieDB. ;)
There's far too many people who do that. Those who watch the engine get notified and dismiss the project because it looks about as unprofessional as you can get, if you post a new game with barely any actual content.

So you have 2 sentences of story you aren't even happy with and are basically inviting others to write the story as well. As reference/inspiration you are mentioning a game you haven't even played. Maybe you're just representing your case very poorly but this is one of the worst idea posts I've ever seen.

Luckily it seems you can code a bit so you can make a playable prototype game with placeholder gfx / models. On that basis you can start estimating which assets you might need help with and if people are interested in your game. Then take your time and make a decent GDD for recruiting.

Thanks... i will do that. The story i wrote on this post is a rough basis and i already have a few friends to help me playtest the project. Looking over the post i understand why you think its terrible and i'll have to agree. Again, thanks for your response.

This should basically be posted in the Recruiting and Resumes section. You don't seem like you want feedback just others to help you make the game and come up with the story. If you say the game is going to be like something else and then barely explain what makes it different then we have to assume you're just copying a game that's already made. You need more details if you want people to be interested.

Don't take this wrong but if that's the only story you've got then you need to start reading more books! (Reading fiction boost your imagination and your internal story think-tank -processes).

Second: If you want to start up a mod team, then first of all you need to show people what -YOU- can contribute with. Many people around here - myself included - are fed up with the countless amount of wannabe-gamedev storytellers with no real game dev skillset. Concept art, 3D, 2D, Animation, Level Design, Programming - you need to be able to provide the team with more than just story, game design and project management. If not then the only thing that is going to happen is that people are going to forget all the threads you create and all the mods you try and start up. The modding community is simply TOO saturated with storytellers/writers!
